Recommend the chicken and carne adovada enchiladas. Skip the sopapilla dessert (not freshly made) and the margaritas (no hard liquor license, so they use wine). Have a beer instead.
This was my first time at the newer Monroe's location and it was great! The new space is modern but still had a friendly atmosphere. The food was delicious as always. We had New Mexican, which was delicious but the burger and onion rings that went by looked great too. The kids love the chicken or steak fingers (just like I did 35 years ago when I started eating here) This new location added patio seating to Monroe's already attractive offerings. Looking forward to coming back!
We try and eat here when we visit Albuquerque as they have great New Mexican cuisine. The staff is always friendly and everything I have tried is delicious.
This is one my favorite restaurants in Albuquerque. I’ve never been disappointed by their food or their service. Everything on their menu is honestly delicious! 10/10 recommend if you’re thinking about trying it out. It’s really easy to order out or dine in.
The food was very good. We purchased a jar of salsa to take the flavor home with us. The service was slow, it's in a seedy part of downtown, and the atmosphere is not at all Mexican, but we liked it overall.
I like the #0 hamburger. The green chile with the 1000 island dressing is very tasty. I get this for lunch at least once a week.
I picked the taco salad and i was really not impressed, I had better Mexican cuisine back in Michigan.
First time I’ve been here so friendly and there food is so yummy I got a stuffed sopa was so good came with family came in hungry left full will visit again when I take another trip to Albuquerque soon. They have a great variety of food thanks Monroe’s
We ate here on a road trip and it was absolutely delicious! A true Albuquerque original.I ordered a red and green tamale and a cup of posole, and my partner got a chicken and beef chile relleno. Those, plus the sopas and their salsa, were incredible. We will definitely visit again when we come back!
Was so excited to try this restaurant. #1 on TripAdvisor??? We were told wait by the toilet’s , to wait for a table. We ordered chips and salsa, which show on their menu is 4.50. They put the very small cup of salsa in with the chips thus only room for about 10 to 12 chips in the basket. We ordered the pork stew and a combo plate. I don’t know how they pulled it off, but was our food was spicy, and bland at the same time. We were both disappointed , and will not return nor recommend your restaurant to friends and family.
