I travel for business every week and stay at Marriott’s for the consistency and service. Unfortunately this Marriott doesn’t appear to be aligned with the greater companies standards. Front desk had no clue what they were doing, had an issue letting me check in early after they told me I could. I left my name for them to call once a room opened up. Once 4:30pm hit and I hadn’t heard back I called and the rep said they still did not have anything for me. I went back to the hotel 5 minutes later and magically they had a double instead of a king which I gladly took after traveling all day. The room they provided me was either smoked in or has some type of mold issue. I instantly started getting a massive headache. I let the front desk know and no more rooms available + no empathy at all from the staff. Don’t even stay here. Not worth the trouble.
I was concerned after I booked this last minute and then read the reviews. So going into it I had low expectations. We booked two rooms and the entire stay was wonderful. The rooms were extremely nice. The hotel was updated in 2018 and still felt fresh and new. I travel a lot, so I know good vs bad. Those other reviews must of had something go wrong because we had nothing but great things to say and had the best night sleep out of the 6 previous hotels we stayed at on our 10 day trip. No clue why there were a handful of bad reviews. Would definitely stay again.
Pretty disappointing property generally. First off, clearly there was recently a renovation—new carpet, wall treatments, bathroom fixtures—but they seem to have given up before finishing as the furniture is old and banged up pretty badly. Missing is an in-room safe, which I think is essential for a hotel that caters to business travelers. Also missing is an in-room fridge, which is not expected but is frequently provided even at middling properties. In the bathroom the shower stands out as the room’s highlight, with great pressure and with the controls opposite the showerhead so it’s possible to turn the shower on without getting soaked. Just a wonderful showering experience. The sink/basin was awfully slow to drain, something I’d have imagined housekeeping might have noted. Speaking of housekeeping, there was none offered for our two-night stay. It’s not such a big deal but the idea of a “full-service hotel” has clearly been lost. During housekeeping, though, running the vacuum across the HVAC intake would be a really good idea as dust was thick and heavy. Mornings there is not an easy option for coffee, which is odd in 2022. The front desk directed me to the restaurant where I could theoretically order coffee but I was not received to make an order. This one really is a headscratcher because you’d think hotel management would be very happy to charge $4 for something that costs them about 50 cents to make. (I wouldn’t dare suggest providing it complimentary.) On a positive note, service at the bar was good and the food was passable for a hotel restaurant.
This was a business trip with my husband and we stayed at several Marriott properties while we were in NM, this was the worst experience on any property we visited. Parking can get full quickly on fully booked nights so be aware (we suggest the larger lot). Desk staff was cordial and kind and quick during check in. Once we arrived at our room we found it to be clean and appropriately appointed for a Marriott, but HOT. Apparently the hallways and the rooms do not use the same AC systems at all and our Room was uncomfortable for our entire stay (even after engineering came up to try and give us some comfort. Our first night was quiet and we enjoyed the restaurant and bar. On night two, it all went downhill. The guests in the room next to us partied from about 6pm until we finally gave up after reaching out to the front desk a few times and we checked out at 2am. We understand that people get rooms for all kinds of purposes, but the hotel staff should have been much better about ensuring, at the very least, a quiet and safe sleeping environment.
Never come here the front desk clerk Ryan can not be bothered to do his job. He was Condescending insisting that even though I had the reservation on my phone with all the information except for the confirmation number that I would have to pay two more nights and then the manager could straighten it out when he came in. The fact is the reservation was there all along he couldn’t read the name Tommie Fields. Because his preoccupation with some else did not allow him to notice that it was under Fields Tommie instead of Tommie Fields after repeatedly asking him if the names have been messed up. He repeatedly admit it yes what I had was enough to give me the room but refused to do so because I cannot produce the confirmation number. He then insisted I call bonvoy and stay on hold while he continued doing whatever he was doing instead of taking care of me as a paying customer. My daughter was forced to call my husband who was just released from the hospital to get the confirmation number I had called Bonfoy as he insisted and when they wanted to speak to him he refused to speak to them. When he decided to do his job. He then proceeded to to give us a generic room with one bed for my grow daughter and I myself instead of The double that we paid for. I expect better I understand mistakes are made but do not be condescending and sit there and agree what I had was Ample proof that we had the room. When I went down to get the proper room . He said I can wasn’t allowed back down stairs. So please I don’t care where you have to stay do not come here they don’t even have refrigerators in the room if you need something like refrigerated medicine that Has to be refrigerated you have to put it in there the kitchen refrigerator. This is a health Violation. Then then he wanted to know if we wanted to pay $20 for breakfast the next morning. Why would I want to eat breakfast when there are individual items from the guest at the hotel in the same refrigerator as the food that they’re going to be serving me . The room smells like someone has smoked in it. If I do not receive a reply from the The manager and Bon Voy for the inconvenience we have been here for three hours trying to get into a room because Ryan didn’t want to do his job. I am on the On the verge of walking down and closing my account. Also Ryan Snidely said bad night as I was walking away after he had told me I couldn’t come back downstairs and that he was done with me. This establishment needs to be done with Ryan He snidely said I am sorry you when I was down there he said well I’m sorry that you’re having such a frustrating night and I said I wouldn’t of been having a frustrating night if you could have stopped and read the fact that Fields Tommie is Tommie Fields whole thing could’ve been avoided but don’t treat Act as if is to treat paying customers like crap.then to tell me I have a problem when they go get the keys to the proper room and not to come back downstairs. Because he needed a safe work environment. He needed to work first. If a reservation for a few weeks ago didn’t have comparable issues than maybe I would be more than understanding. Then to tell the customer you didn’t know they needed to beds. It was on the rereservation. The security guard Michael was excellent and a difficult situation.
We had a conference here this past weekend so were pleased with our discounted rate. We could walk to restaurants which was fun in Uptown. Request "the quiet side" of hotel, otherwise a little noisy. I told them twice about hand sanitizer and the third time I noticed they had just removed from the elevator location? The furniture is in need of updating. The shower has been updated & was wonderful. The bed is great, but pillows could be better. Our door was scratched up probably from a dog kept inside. The pool was wonderfully warm and we used it everyday. It has this cool inside/outside tunnel.
We have been loyal Marriott patrons for many years as Titanium Elite members and have always had pleasant stays. However, we cannot state the same for our recent experience with the Albuquerque front desk and management office wherein we were moved to a room with inoperable AC and provided ample opportunity for staff to either repair AC or move us to another room. After being lied to by front desk, Martin C multiple times, we were able to chaperone, Rodney, bldg. engineer to our room to first check (post 36 hours of our 1st notification to front desk.) Rodney tried but unable to repair, but mgt at no time offered to move us to a new room, and insistent that bldg. engineer visited our room (3X) which is a blatantly lie. Rodney confirmed he only went to our room once when he was chaperoned by us. Nonetheless we checked out a day early and cut our vacation short. This licensed Marriott is a disgrace and a stain on the Marriott brand. BTW, unclean too; left the front entrance unattended for an entire day with food debris everywhere. Disgraceful.
First, I would have given this hotel 4 stars for it's location, cleanliness and comfort. However, the staff was well below professional standards. I rode 620 miles from Dallas to Albuquerque in 30-40 mph winds. When I arrived, I just wanted a place to clean up and get a good night's sleep. The front desk greeted me with some garbage about not finding my room (reserved over a week in advance) and then asked if I was willing to take 2 beds or wanted to wait. I wanted neither and he finally got me into a room. The next day I rode from Albuquerque to Las Vegas with temps between 29-33 for about half the trip. The moment I arrived and unpacked, I realized I had left my tablet in my Albuquerque room. I called them immediately and was told they'd check with housekeeping. After an hour, I called again and was told "no one turned it in". I asked to speak to the manager and was told that he was in a meeting and would call back. No one did. I called again in the early evening and a supervisor said they'd let the GM know about my tablet and he'd call back the next morning. Of course by this time there would be no talking to the housekeeper assigned to my room. The GM finally called near noon the next day with regrets and nothing else. I said I knew there wasn't much he could do by this time, however, he should know that that particular housekeeper was a thief. Leave nothing of value in your room at this Marriott.
We made a one-night visit here on our way through town. It was a Saturday night and I don't know if the all of the rooms were booked but there appeared to be several events being hosted by the hotel and the lobby and parking lots were busy when we arrived. No matter, check-in was easy through the Marriott app and the digital key worked perfectly. Despite the hubbub downstairs it was calm and quiet in clean, comfortable room. Our stay here met our expectations in every way.
I was here for a 6 night stay on business. Housekeeping policy not disclosed at check in. They did not make up my room. After 2 days I was told it was to be done by request. After requesting it they did it only once. Each night I would come back to the room and it was not cleaned. I had to get it done while out to dinner and take all valuables with me. On the last night all they did was dump towels and coffee on the table. Did not even empty garbage bins or remove old towels. I called the front desk and was told told stays over 3 nights get no room cleaning. The staff person was kind of rude. Policy keeps changing. Is this an extended stay hotel?? At these prices housekeeping should be done DAILY, minus the lying and daily changes in policy.
