My friend and I meet for lunch once a month (we live about 40 miles apart) and we wanted to try a new place. This was a mistake. I entered the restaurant and waited to be seated. Two servers were chatting over by an empty table and I stood by the "Please wait to be seated" sign for a full 2 minutes even tho I was in full view of these two servers. I can't eat spicy food and the only item on the menu that wasn't swimming in chili sauce that looked more like watery Tabasco it was so thin was on the children's menu. I was told that I couldn't order from there but after a little pressure the waitress gave in. My friend ordered cheese enchiladas. We both had ice tea. We are both veterans and we asked if they gave a veteran's discount before we even ordered our food. Stage set. I ordered a cheeseburger with bacon and fries. The bun was a huge sesame seed bun with an oval burger cooked dry and the bacon was chopped into little 1/4 inches pieces that looked more like chunks of onion that missed the burger and was all over my papas - cut up potato that was fried. My friend's meal was even worse. The tortillas were barely cooked and didn't have any cheese inside them. It was all dumped in a large pool on top of the tortillas. Her meal came with rice. I have eaten in many Mexican restaurants - look at where we live - and NONE had white rice that was dry and without seasoning. We ordered ice tea and water. Once our so called meal was delivered, our waitress disappeared. I had to ask a passing employee for a tea refill and we never got our water. And the checks? We had told her that we were both veterans even showed our id's but she had to redo the checks because she didn't ring them up correctly. There are several restaurants in this area named Marisco's but go by the second name. There is one in Los Lunas that is great but this one - avoid at all cost.
Cocktail and piña colada are my favorite!
Best mojarra fish ever. I don't like seafood at all but now that I'm pregnant I was craving fish and mariscos satisfied my needs
My husband and I had lunch here for the very first time today. He ordered tilapia in a warm mango salsa and I had trout stuffed with octopus, shrimp and scallops. It was absolutely delicious and such a value for the copious amounts of seafood we were served. The chips and salsa come with three different dips and this is complimentary ! We were thrilled to have such a wonderful lunch. We will be back again and again❤️
This is one of pur favorite places to eat seafood ! We are regulars so we love how well they know what we order . Great staff and good food . Drinks in point as well .
the service was good and the food
Visited Santa Fe and Española locations and wondered if this would be as good and fresh. Happy to say yes! Will definitely return and a place to take guests. Leans Mexican, rather than New Mexican which is great find in ABQ.
I went here to try their Filet Marinero. I was not disappointed. Good flavor, decent portion size, fresh chips and salsa. Delicious flan. Fast and friendly service. A neat place. Reasonable prices.
Having had way too much rich food over the holidays, on the way home, we decided to find something lighter when we got to Albuquerque so seafood sounded good. We decided to try Mariscos La Playa since it wasn't far from our hotel, and were delighted at our decision! Food: For our starter, we each had a Ceviche which was out of sight. It was more like Peruvian Ceviche than Mexican Ceviche since it was not a soup. There was a very crisp tortilla under a pile of mixed fish and shrimp with a very pleasant lime taste. Fabulous! For the main course we had Pescado Relleno which was also good and fresh, but personal preference, we liked the ceviche more. The portions were large and very fresh. Restaurant: The restaurant is very nicely decorated with the painted Mexican benches and lots of color. There were not a lot of people there largely because of COVID, so the customers were well spread out. Covid controls: All of the staff were wearing masks and masks were required to enter. As mentioned, the customers were well spread to maintain minimum distances. Staff: The staff was very friendly and attentive, checking back frequently to see that we had what we needed. If you like seafood, I highly recommend this restaurant, and really wish they would open a restaurant closer to us in Arizona!
Great food! Be sure to try a shrimp cocktail, but plan on it being your meal unless you are very hungry. The service is excellent and the prices are very reasonable for what you get!
