1st trip to Albuquerque and two of my hotel staff recommended this place for dinner. The salsa was very different but I was a fan of it, chips were ehh. Place is severely understaffed but our waiter was out there hustling. Food came out quickly and was pretty good. Zero complaints about that. Texas still got NM on Mexican food, but decent effort.
Nice lunch! We stopped by for an early Mother's Day celebration, and made an afternoon of it.I had the combination plate, I think it's called Frank's combo, and I really enjoyed the variety that was represented in the combo platter. I chose to have beef taco and upgrade my enchilada to beef. I really like meet in my enchiladas instead of just cheese. My wife had blue corn chicken enchiladas oh, and they were also fantastic. The staff was really awesome, and I think our waitress was very professional and thoughtful. What a great meal!
We have been to this restaurant on three different occasions and each time something goes wrong. The positive is the staffing has always fixed issues promptly and satisfactorily. The service is friendly in all honesty and the food here is excellent. I recommend shredded beef for tacos due to its tasty flavor. The issue I have is the bartender does not make the correct size for a drink or in the most recent case, the refill order for a margarita was not fulfilled. Thankfully the drink was not on the bill either. Los Cuates is a busy restaurant during dinner hours so I can forgive for minor missteps. It is easy to understand why this place gets a lot of patronage: excellent food, friendly service yet for myself they miss on a four or five star rating based on above mentioned reasons. Give this restaurant a shot, it may be a very nice experience for yourself.
I took my family here to eat one evening. It was my treat and I wanted to do something nice for them. Kim was our waitress and she had coughed on our food when it arrived, she took way too long to get our order, our drinks, and also our check. I had to ask the one who seated us down to get a box for us because we were ready to go, had to ask another waitress to get our check. I waited for my change, but Kim didn't come back until I asked. This place is ridiculous. The manager Amber contacted me and wanted to give my family and I another chance but no reply. Manger is very unprofessional!
I gave them 2 stars out of pity..I know they are under staffed and struggling - The staff was nice, but not happy and the overall atmosphere was very dismal and depressing. Our aunt was visiting from Chicago and we stopped in for a quick dose of NM culture. Unfortunately, the food was just thrown together on our plates and it was sub-par for NM standards. I DO NOT recommend this restaurant, if you're looking for a fun, uniquely New Mexico atmosphere eat somewhere else.
The food quality was very good. Erin, our server, was attentive and gracious. As in many restaurants now, there seems to be a shortage of employees. There certainly was no shortage of patrons. Prices are a little high for most meals, but probably comparable to other places, post-pandemic.
Really surprised it ended up being so good! Enchiladas were awesome, I prefer green chili buy by wife liked the red better. Also very good green chili stew. Would definitely return.
Customer service was bad, I know Restaurant need people to work. But Restaurant also need to find people that what to give good service. For the two of us it took 1.5 hours for enchiladas, we could of made it by then. Also they on had 4 tables with people, when we got there.
delicious food and friendly staff
My favorite New Mexican restaurant, reliably great food and great service. Always nice to have Paula's help. It was great to meet her granddaughter and see she's working there, too. ? Thanks!
