I work at the National Hispanic culture center there and I absolutely love this restaurant. Stephanie the restaurant owner is an amazing person. Everyone that works there are always nice. Food is always really good. The green chili chicken soup is my all time favorite
Food is wonderful! I had some of the catered food. Beef and potatoes, so good!
Beautiful Friday evening on their patio. Exceptional service in a peaceful setting. Menu a bit limited, but food quality and presentation are very good. Try the mexican brownie for dessert for its unique taste. A wonderful dinner and I look forward to our next visit!
I have visited my sister in Albuquerque many times in past years. We’ve eaten at many restaurants, but this was our first time at La Fonda del Bosque. What an incredible treat! It was my sister’s anniversary, but we didn’t say anything about it. You would have thought we did by our service and outstanding lunch! Located on the grounds of the Hispanic Cultural Center, the parking lot and courtyard were filled with pretty flowering trees. The large dining room had a tall ceiling and windows that flooded it with natural light. There was a beautiful kiva fireplace with candles and orchids. Soft, relaxing music played. We ordered the warm chips and four salsas (all homemade). I took a chance on the chili relleno (in the past restaurants served them smothered in chili sauce). It was crispy and filled with wild mushrooms, caramelized onions and cheese. It was crunchy (not greasy) and served on a bed of corn and red peppers. A fresh side salad with homemade dressing was also included. My sister had chicken tacos, and her husband had a green chili cheeseburger. We all said these were the best local dishes we’ve ever had! We had food from all the dishes to take home. We had to order the dessert to take home. The brownie was moist, and the churros were the best I’ve ever had - a soft puffy inside, cinnamon sugar on the outside, and served with a fluffy chocolate dip. Both homemade. We didn’t order cocktails because we wanted to try the fresh lemonade and lavender tea. Both luscious. While we waited for dessert, our delightful server Josiah brought us each a taste of a chili margarita. The taste of spice was light and didn’t overwhelm the drink. So we got to toast their anniversary! Truly gourmet lovely lunch for a very reasonable price. Only wish I could go more often!!!!
Love this restaurant. Food is excellent, as is the customer service. Plenty of parking. Catering available. Reasonable prices. Highly recommend.
The only bad thing I can say is that it isn't open enough. Charming atmosphere, superb food, courteous and efficient service.
We had the Chinese BBQ duck quesadilla (an appetizer, $8) and the Mesquite steak taco plate (entree. $12). The latter was very good and good quantity. The former barely had duck - about 4 small slices. See the photos. An added bonus is that they had their monthly art exhibit- interesting art and some very good hors d'oeuvres.. Cost was $20 plus tip.
A group of us went there today to celebrate my retirement. The food, which an appetizer of salsas, sauce and guacamole with hot fresh tortilla chips. And the main entrees were all fabulous!! Steak, chicken tacos, green chili chicken pasta and omg, churros with chocolate ganache. The staff were so friendly and so accommodating. This place is a hidden gem. You need to try it.
Delicious, fresh and beautiful presentation. The prices are not bad at all and great service. Will definitely be back :) thank you!
As a professional wedding DJ/Host for over 23 years (PartyTime DJ and Event Services), this is one of my favorite venues for a wedding! The courtyard is beautiful and very New Mexican. The staff is very professional and takes great care of their customers and guests. A+ and 5 stars!
