If you want one of the best wood oven pizzas ever, try Il Vicino. We had the Testarossa and the Motorino. Such a lovely place for pizza, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful! The 7in small is a perfect size, but if you're extra hungry, get a 10in. Their spicy oil is very tasty as well and perfect for the crust or as a drizzle on top. It's reminiscent of good chorizo spices. The tiramisu is divine, but it's a large portion, so you can share it.

I ordered the sausage lasagna as a take out order. It was by far the worst meal I’ve had at Il Vicino. This is my first time ordering food from there since the pandemic. The cheese had the consistency of string cheese and the sauce was watery and thin. Quite disappointing considering the $20 price for very subpar food. I have ordered this dish in the past and it use to be quite good. Hopefully this isn’t an indication of yet another restaurant that is allowing their standards of quality to slide while their prices increase. I would have had a better meal if I had picked up a frozen lasagna at the grocery store. Please return to producing the great quality food you were known for in the past.

Well this evening I decided it was time to grab some Italian food so I did a search and found that IL VICINO (Italian for “The Nearby/The Near) was nearby! The reviews seemed very positive so I ventured out and although being Sicilian I rarely try and eat Italian out, I was pleasantly surprised. No one can compare to one’s mothers sauce but it was tasty in the style it was made in. I ordered a vegetarian calzone and to see if this place was legit, a cannoli! The food I did enjoy, my only criticism was that the dessert came out before the main meal. The ingredients in the calzone were fresh and it was well made with a proper thin crust surrounding the filling. The diners at the table next to me invited me to try the Olio Picante, a chile infused oil and it was great on the calzone! The cannoli was properly made with the filling piped in when ordered and presented, thereby insuring a crispy and not soggy shell! The cheese filling was nicely sweetened and the chocolate sauce over the middle was a nice addition. Enjoyed both the food, great service and casual atmosphere! Don’t miss this one when in Albuquerque!

The pizza is ok. There isn’t really a wow factor but it’s fresh. The flavor is a little bit lackluster. The service at this location is pretty good.

It's just ok, nothing spectacular. I'm sure the pizza is good, if cooked properly but I had a craving for spaghetti and they do not have spaghetti. I settled for a lasagna type pasta and it was lacking flavor. And they have no garlic bread, or other favorites we crave. Basically you pay for the name and a little bit disappointment. Order pizza to go and you can't go wrong. Special brews are just too filling....

Walkup counter service to place your order then eat in or take out. A variety of pizzas to choose from as well as salads and pasta. Several beers on tap. Friendly staff, delicious pizza at reasonable prices.

The pizza is perf and for great price. The the Chile oil is a must. The place had a nice atmosphere and the staff was nice. The crust is just right!

Delicious! Small place, but they have outdoor seating as well. Great place to enjoy some tasty pizza and wine.

My friend and I ordered a pizza to split at Il Vicino in Nob Hill this afternoon, and it arrived with soggy, raw dough in the middle. The waiter gave us an extra plate which was dirty. When I told them the pizza was undercooked, the staff got huffy and mad-dogged us, but went ahead and cooked another one, or at least tried to. It too, was raw inside. Finally, the owner (i guess) came over to argue with me about it, pretending that their raw pizza dough problem was somehow normal, and did his level best to make me feel like perhaps I was too unsophisticated to understand the nuances of the soggy dough I kept trying to pick from my teeth, rather than apologize and refund our money. He told me I should ask for extra crispy next time, (!) to which I replied that there will never again be a next time for me. Blech. I've seen the same baffling behavior from restaraunt owners on Kitchen Nightmares. This place was once good, but not now.

The pizza was delicious. So light that we didn't feel full and sluggish afterwards. Not greasy and baked just enough!
