This place is a retro goldmine. First of all, they use the best ice cream in the country, Blue Bell. So, come prepared to love the ice cream first and foremost… then be prepared to love the atmosphere and the service.When you come in, you will find the place packed wall-to-wall with memorabilia. Stuff from times past that you will recognize (as well as things that will just peak your interest.The owner also has a treasure box of toys that your loved little one will get to enjoy as their own possession.My granddaughter loves this place. It is a diamond in Albuquerque.Now… when you go… see if your can find the box of Green Giant Nibets Corn. If you like to support local small business, I screen Ice Cream is exactly the kind of place you are looking for. The owner is very friendly and a real character, the inside of the place is covered in every inch in nostalgia collectibles from the 1950s on, and the ice cream and toppings are good too! It's the kind of place that just going to makes you feel better. Plus, you can host an event there as they offer savory foods and even projecting a movie on the side of the building! I have been going to this ice cream shop for years, and recently had a chance to suggest the local BMW club have a meetup there and help this gem of a local ABQ small business. And if you bring your dogs (some outdoor seating), you may be offered a pup cup!
Owner was so funny and personable! He made us feel very comfortable and welcomed. They have 35 flavors of ice cream and they have a ton of toppings, so it can be a little overwhelming at first, but you are welcomed to try as many flavors as you would like! Highly recommend! It's quite an experience.

The staff was great and the ice cream was cold. There is nothing I dislike more than hot ice cream. The shakes were shaken. Unlike thoes other places that stir their shakes, grrrrr. And the smoothies were as smooth as Marvin Gays voice on a first date with your one and only love. This place is most definitely the Shnittle Bam Sip Snack Shack! I give it a 10! A motha funkin 10! Baskin Robbins can go kick rocks and 31 flavors can suck a boba straw. It's all about that delicious "I Scream"!!!
Yummy ice cream, fun decor, and Bill is the cherry on top! We loved the raspberry sorbet and rum cherry. Great stop on our trip back to Co!
Best local ice cream shop! Me and my kids have a been there over 7 times, and it never disappoints. My favorite is the Rum Black cherry, it tastes great. There is a large variety of flavors, and there’s a great retro environment. There’s even a Galaga and Mrs. Pac-Man machine. It’s a great store and the owner is a great person. He makes you feel like you are a long time friend, and he’s always smiling and making jokes. Overall great place.
My boyfriend and I just stopped here as a Valentine’s Day treat. This store is so cute !! The owner is soooo kind and awesome! Felt like he was a life long friend, we shared some laughs, got some stories about autographs on the wall. Such an awesome place, we loved it! (The Superman ice cream was DELICIOUS)
This is a cool little ice cream shop. The owner has books and toys for kids to play with while you have ice cream. He also had cool movie memorabilia from people like Jeff Bridges. The "Dude". You can purchase lots of random toys as well. Quite a character Abe a nice little place to try of you've never been.
100000% recommend going here! The owner is so kind and takes the time to make you feel welcomed. It’s so cool to hear about all the stories of the many things he has in his store. My son absolutely loved playing with all the toys. It’s truly remarkable how much time and love you can tell he put into this little ice cream shop. And the ice cream is the best we have ever had!! This place is a MUST to visit. We will be back every time we are in Albuquerque!
