Was looking for something simple, nothing over the top to have for lunch. I spotted this little site out of the corner of my eye. Drove around the block to get back to it and glad I did. Server came to my vehicle very quickly with a smile. Took my order and within minutes I had one of the best footlong chili cheese dogs and a shake I've ever had! While eating my meal in their parking lot, there was a steady stream of cars driving up and picking up their call-ahead orders as well as others like myself parking for a bit to enjoy. Don't pass this place by. ( no indoor seating)
See all those reviews that say best chili cheese dog ever? Well, they're absolutely right! No caveats, no exceptions. The chili is spicy and delicious and the footlong dogs make the perfect platform. Everything is good, but those footlong chili cheeses are world class.
Back to the 50’s. Polite car hop service. Love it. Nice dogs grilled on a flat top. Chili had great flavor. Nice option for green chilies as well. Lovely voting on the piping hot fried. Well priced. Great find.
Fantastic chili dog, spicy (to me hot). Great neon sign, stopped on Route 66 trip, east to west trip. Classic Route 66 establishment.
We stopped because of Breaking Bad and ate because we were hungry. We were shocked. The chili dogs are hands down the best we’ve ever eaten. The shakes and root beer floats were solid as well. We went back and ate there again.
My son and I stopped here for dinner and really liked it.I opted for the chili cheese while ordered the plain ketchup dog.The dogs are all footlongs and are well spiced. The fries are crispy and well seasoned. You can no longer sit inside so you must eat in the car or take them home. It is a cool place located on the old Route 66.
The foot long chili dogs are awesome, but be prepared for spicy chili!! I could finish mine! Heard about this place through a friend that said it was famous on TV! Always love going to hole in the wall places. This one did not disappoint. Parking lot was packed full! They serve Pepsi products.
this place in no my list now of places I will need to go when I can to town if I ever move
More than anything, I wanted to get a photo of that awesome neon sign, one for both day and night. And so I did, boom-mission accomplished. We got there too late for dinner (got the flashing neon!) so we came back the next day for lunch. With the pandemic still simmering, everyone parked in front and a carhop (she should get a bonus for how efficient she was, taking & delivering orders to at least 15 cars!) came by, took the order and in 10 min, we were eating our chili dogs. They were GOOD!! Maybe I was just really hungry but it was flavor heaven. I read their secret is splitting the hotdog and grilling both sides-It also fits on the flatter bun they use a lot better. The bread was super soft, the chili was a little bit spicy, (we got chopped onions but ask if you don’t want them)!but not too much and the hotdog, excellent. This was the highlight of our Day 2 in Albuquerque and we didn’t even need to Call Saul ?
delicious and tasteful
