WOW the quality has changed for the worst. Chicken pieces are substantially smaller than the pieces they used to get. Chicken is no longer juicy but dry. Tiny side sizes. Everything not only shrunk in portions but the taste shrank to where I'd rather go to KFC. Golden Pride is now New Mexicos local Churches Chicken? . Sad day won't be going back for higher priced mediocre Chicken. Frank's Chicken and Waffles is now the best Chicken in albuquerque. Expensive for small portions. Makes me feel like a chef it was that bad.
This used to be our go-to place for a quick dinner after running around with sports and errands, but I don't think we'll be visiting anymore. The drive thru is a mess, the employees are stressed (and will take it out on you), the food prices have gone up significantly, the quality has gone down, and something is ALWAYS missing from my order. I'm sure it's still suitable for some people, but this is an Albuqueruqe favorite that I'm gonna write off as having hit their peak. Too bad, because they really were something in their heyday.
Our first visit to Golden Pride on Juan Tabo. Don't let the long drive thru lines scare you away...they are amazingly fast and efficient. We had to warm up our food as we live over an hour away, but it was still very moist and tasty. We ordered both the BBQ chicken and fried chicken to compare. Both excellent! We will be back...
Go here. Like if you are even just thinking about it, GO. people may complain about the lines but they aren't always long and they move fast. Best fried chicken in abq for sure. My family's fav spot. Could not recommend more.
We love Golden Pride and have been coming here for years. We come at least one a week, but lately it seems like everytime we go they either get our order wrong or they forget to give us items we ordered. It's pretty frustrating when you pay for something you didn't receive. This last time we ordered a frontier burrito and 4 Carne burritos. They forgot to add the green chili stew on the frontier burrito and then only gave us 3 Carne burritos. When you call to tell them, all they say is you can come back or they'll give it to you the next time your there. Doesn't really help you now though! You have to be inconvenienced for their mistake! I get that they're busy but they're not giving it away for free. When you pay for something you expect to get what you pay for.
I don’t know what’s happened to the quality of their food at Golden Pride but it’s terrible now. I cannot believe my last two experiences here. I ordered the green Chile stew and noticed the ground beef was raw….RAW! This is unacceptable! I ordered a two piece bbq chicken meal and was literally served one piece and a bone with skin on it! I paid for a two piece not a piece of chicken! This is not okay. I was a loyal customer to Golden Pride but these last couple experiences have turned me off. I will not be returning. Please check the quality of Your food before your customers start getting sick. Not cool! I wish I could rate this place a zero!
I wish I could give this place 5 stars because it’s a local business, but unfortunately after my experience I cannot. I ordered a 3 piece chicken meal. The window insisted we wait because the chicken was not ready, so we did. We noticed other cars behind us were also told to wait. The cashier comes out to deliver the food but skips our vehicle. They attend to the car that ordered before us and the car that ordered after us. We were then told our chicken will be out shortly so we wait a few more minutes . Finally the cashier comes out and informed us that the manager Louise instructed that we cant have chicken because they were no longer putting chicken in the fryer. However they ended up giving the chicken to the vehicles that ordered after us. It’s so disappointing that local business don’t take pride in their local businesses. This wouldn’t be an issue if we didn’t have to wait for 30+ minutes. We could have left with the additional food we ordered but now we’re going home with cold food and no chicken. Apparently Golden Pride doesn’t take Pride in their meals.
I lived in NM for 25 years, and there are no better flour tortillas than those made by Golden Pride! Every time I visit family in NM, I always pack as many dozen that will fit in my cooler; this time 4 dozen, yikes!These tortillas make the best breakfast burritos, or really any kind of tortilla sandwich possible. I've even stopped at a rest stop, open the hood of Maggie, (my F150 Ford), placed on foil, then on the warm engine, and made a terrific cheese burrito! Yes I know I'm a little weird, ha ha!If you have the opportunity to be in NM, look for the Golden Pride Brand. I stopped in Albuquerque NM, picked my tortillas at Juan Taboo, an Comanche, NE.
Great food all the way around. I have not had a bad item yet.
