Doesn't take reservations. We gave up on patio seating although many tables empty (staffing?) and ate inside since less wait. Average food for New Mexican restaurant. Probably wouldn't return unless a patio table could be reserved.
Fantastic food served by awesome staff in a really cool atmosphere. The menu is small, but the selections are delicious. Might be the best engulf I've ever had but the sopapilla was clearly the best I've had.The staff was extremely nice and attentive and they offer both indoor and outdoor dining. There is a small parking lot and also pay for street parking. I highly recommend trying El Patio De Albuquerque!
Food was okay, but service was marginal at best. We were the only people in there and wanted to sit at a larger table but were told it was reserved for 3 or more. The entire place was empty! After a few minutes sitting where they put us (looking into the bathrooms) we moved to a small table on the patio, and the staff (two guys) seemed rather put out by that. Drinks were very slow to arrive, and the beer was not cold. Once our food arrived the waiter never came back again. He walked by us several times and never once glanced in our direction (and the place was still mostly empty). I had to flag him down to get another drink and our bill. Then he watched intently over my partner's shoulder while he added the tip. Creepy and unprofessional. We felt very unwelcome, like they sure didn't want our business. Never a smile or thank you for coming to their restaurant. It was pretty odd, actually. We won't be back.
Recommended to me by a friend from the area. He may have disappointed me once or twice but El Patio did not! The Frito Pie was a must as well as the stuffed sopapillas. And if you're not from around there (like us) the when someone says it comes with chiles they don't mean Hormel! Hatch Chile. Not the Texas Chilli ? Pet friendly patio!
They have got to have the best sopapillas in town, and the food is hard to beat as well. This was our last stop in town and I wish it would have been our first. The guacamole was probably the best I ever had as well. Just a great experience and a must-stop while visiting Albuquerque.
Mother & I ate here today, I asked server the price & she said $8. 50, when we got the bill the price was $10.00 (added chicken?). She did not mention the additinal cost for meat! Your server lied Mr. Sandoval! our family will not ever return!
Delicious food. The wait staff, Brad and his son, Michael, were quick to serve, courteous and friendly, even though it was busy, 2 staff short, and Brad was working a double shift. Definitely recommend.
Very kind staff, great service, food arrived quickly.
Great place, very lay back, and friendly. Amazing food and service. 4th day in Albuquerque best place I have found yet.
Very disappointed that our experience at El Patio on Rio Grande was so awful! It was the worst meal EVER!! The green chili stew tasted like BO (savaco), and the stuffed sopapilla had a drop of chili. It was so dry that it was just undible. The worst part is that they over charge for what it is that they are serving. I will never go back! Not even for a cocktail!! I hope they do something to improve what they are serving for the ridiculous prices they are. Good luck ?
