The bartender in the second floor needs to find a new job! She/he was really rude! I just ask her what she recommends for a girl drink ? because my girlfriend didn’t know what she wanted because it was her first time @ a club and she was just so rude ! Like come on girl ? your getting paid and also getting a tip!!
Bar tender was awesome.Security was tight like it’s supposed to be.3 stars because I couldn’t take my Coca-Cola drink out the club and it was a non alcoholic. Think they should fix that.
We have been going to Effex for the past seven years and have always had a good experience until a recent night out. We each ordered one drink in Side Effex and walked around. We proceeded to the indoor, rectangular bar on the second floor to order another round. The bartender approached us to take our order, but he pulled away before we finished. I don't think he realized we had one more in our party. I snapped my fingers once to try to get his attention. I figured that would be nicer than yelling. I didn't intend for it to be rude. He obviously took it that way. While waiting for our drinks, we were greeted by security who said we needed to leave. We were quite astonished and security escorted us downstairs. Once downstairs, we spoke with a manager named Steven. Steven immediately apologized and stated he would comp our drinks, but unfortunately due to state law, he cannot. He asked what he could do to make it right. We asked for an apology from the bartender due to this overreaction and to be permitted to continue on with our night. We told him we did not feel safe in Effex after the incident. He again apologized to us and stated we are safe and assured us we are fine to go about as we please. We proceeded back to the bar to order our drinks thinking the misunderstanding was resolved. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, it was not as the bartender refused to serve us (we were fine with this and were about to go somewhere else), however, the bartender again asked security to escort us off the premises. This time we went outside where we were greeted by Steven who again apologized. He stated we are welcome to come back, but we do not feel this way. This is such a shame as we, for years, have always enjoyed this establishment. I think what is most remarkable is that a mild misunderstanding escalated so quickly without anyone from security even bothering to speak to us politely and try to resolve the issue. Even if we had malicious intentions with a single snap of the fingers, it is a huge overreaction to have customers escorted out by security for such a minor misunderstanding. Some of their staff clearly need to grow up and quit acting like a bunch of oversensitive prima donnas.
I had a really fun time . I was blown away with all the different rooms and music options. My Red Bull was cheap compared to other bars. The only bummer is I thought it was a gay club And It seemed there were only about 3 of us gays there.
Had EDC flashbacks to the 25th anniversary oddly enough the entire top floor was EDC and I had just got my EDC sweater in #Djmoonbootsplur recommend this club to all who love edm and dancing. #Goodtime the rail at the front nailed it.
The club was really fun with great music. However I am highly disappointed in one of the female bartenders. I went to get drinks with my friends however while in line we kept getting skipped. When she finally got all of us she said to me “ tell your friends that you guys will get better service with tips”. I don’t know why she would say that when my friends had tipped her, with that comment I decided to not tip her.
its okay i guess. only real club in town imo... only really giving it a low rating because of how straight it is for being the only accessible gay bar in town... cover is expensive as hell too. music is never great. :/
The staff is always trying to make it the best experience, especially Nichole. Tuesdays are really good, music provided by live DJ, and a great atmosphere.
By far the worst all “inclusive” club in Albuquerque. Our friend went in and paid for all of our entrances. Once we tried going up the stairway we were told to leave because our friend was “too drunk” to stand on his own. THIS WAS WITHIN LESS THAN 5 minutes!! They sure were quick to take my friends money but when it came to refund they all acted as if they didn’t know anything.
This is one of my favorite clubs in the country. My friends and I go almost weekly and noticed a new guy working the main door. This prior weekend he had white/platinum hair and it’s definitely a change. He always greets all of us and thanks us. It’s a change for clubs here in Albuquerque. Kudos to him.
