beautiful building, wonderful service (even the cooks showed their faces when serving food, possibly from understaffing but this did not effect the prep time it seems), even more wonderful food. highly recommended.
Would not recommend, food tasted fine and service was great, however around halfway through finishing a Mongolian beef and fried shrimp dinner combo, I ran into something extremely hard whilst chewing. Upon further investigation, turns out it was a small ROCK. At first I thought it was just an unground peppercorn , but it wasn’t. After digging around in the food with a fork, I found ANOTHER rock. Absolutely ridiculous, and unfortunately the food was a take out order so I didn’t discover this until making it home. Either way, how does a rock even end up in food, much less two? Totally disappointed as the food did taste good and the service was quality, but none of that is worth chipping a tooth, and frankly this ruined my appetite. Will be seeking a refund and I’m just glad I didn’t bite down too hard and crack a molar.
Delicious ? Chinese food! Sorry I didn't take photos, it smelled too good! Had the best Mongolian beef in years. Hubby's was great as well. Will definitely be back!
Good folks, tasty food. Service can be a little iffy if restaurant has many customers. In general, not crowded. My favorite dish is an outstanding Egg Fu Yung.
This restaurant is just down the street from our daughters apartment and we needed a place convenient time wise. We had to leave Albuquerque by 12:30 and this place opened at 11. We were greeted immediately and the server handed us the menus and took our drink orders. The iced tea was very good but the hot tea was weak. My wife asked for another teabag and it was delivered straight away. Much better. I like a nice and spicy General Tso’s chicken and this one was one of the best I’ve had since our local (Carlsbad) Chinese restaurant closed several years ago. It was so good I ordered another to-go. Kung Pow shrimp was delicious as was the vegetable shrimp and scallops. The salt and pepper squid was ok. Not much on the seasonings but the squid was very tender. We have found our go to place for Chinese food in Albuquerque. Very reasonable prices and service was above par.
My husband and I were traveling from Arizona to our home in Kentucky and stopped in Albuquerque for the night. We had been eating Mexican food and a lot of meat and we were ready for some fresh and delicious Chinese food. I was so excited I came across this place online because the reviews were so great and the prices reasonable. We went and were both initially impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant, the friendliness of the staff, and the freshness of the appetizer and egg drop soup. The initial impressions began to wear off once my husband received his main course. I did not receive mine and as the restaurant began to fill up, many folks who came in after us did receive their food. My hunger was aggravated because, although this was likely not their intention, I felt singled out because I was the only Black person in the restaurant and the only one sitting there not eating. As my husband finished his meal, my food was brought out. We took it to go. Staff apologized, but only gave us 10% off! I was too tired, too hungry, and a little too humiliated to argue. I paid and we left.I understand that there were only two people working that night; I have worked restaurants and understand that it is HARD WORK. Similarly, I have so much respect for folks who are working to make it in a place that may be hostile, at times, to them as immigrants. But while I sat patiently watching my husband and all the other guests around me eat, neither of the workers would even look at me or ask if I needed anything. It was very disappointing.
This is the best Chinese restaurant in this part of town. The young lady who is always busy working as a server, hostess, and answering the phone for carryout orders is absolutely delightful. I always look forward to a visit here.
Went after recommended by a Chinese friend. Worth it! It was crowded around 12:45pm, so went back around 2pm. Ordered Veg lo mein, veg chow mein with jasmine tea. A bowl of steamed rice is provided Good portion. Neat and tidy..would visit again if crave for Chinese food!
We ordered Egg Drop Soup, Chicken Chow Mien, Orange Chicken, & Egg Rolls. Our meal was very satisfying. My Taste buds were not disappointed. Very clean & friendly. I will definitely come back. I will also recommend to my friends.
East Ocean continues to be my go-to place when I need a Chinese food fix. Chinese New Year was giving them lots of carry-out business but their dining room was uncrowded and service was prompt. The fare is old-school Cantonese and their menu is extensive. Portions are generous -- I took half of mine home -- and everything I've tried there has been excellent. Prices have increased because of inflation but East Ocean is still a good value.
