This is somewhere my family and I love to go, and we never get tired of it. They are amazing about food allergies, and I'm always confident that we will never get sick. The food is delicious and diverse, and the Koobideh is amazing. Even when we've had it delivered via a third party, it's still great. We never leave hungry, and they're so great with our toddler. The gluten free options and clear labeling are so great, and having a gluten free pita as an option is a game changer.
My friend and came in today.I had been here once before and loved it. Unfortunately I ordered my food the same way I did last time, but it came out way different then I expected it to be. Plus I repeated the order three times to the worker, just for my order to come out wrong. When I mentioned that my order was wrong. I was told it would be extra. So I bought a new person but I personally wasn't happy with the experience.
We were blown away by this place! The amount and variety of food that you get for the price is amazing. The staff is friendly and they’re very helpful in figuring out what things to order. The restaurant is very clean with a fun ambience. Easily some of the best Middle Eastern food in Albuquerque. Be sure to get some koobideh if it’s available and to save room for their baklava!
The food is good and different from the usual Mediterranean fare you find in Albuquerque (it goes far beyond gyros and pita bread). The menu and ordering process are a little confusing to grasp. The thing I don't like about Chello Grill is all the single-use plastic they use. You receive your side dishes in plastic containers with lids at the counter, and later, the rest of your meal arrives on a plate. And you get plastic cups and utensils. Ugh, that is way too much plastic waste being dumped into the environment! (Even if they try to recycle it, so much plastic doesn't make it that far; it just gets dumped.) They must have a dishwasher, since the plates are not disposable. I really wish they'd stop wasting so much plastic and start delivering everything all at once on a real plate and offer stainless-steel utensils. It would be a lot more appealing for the diners, too.
Just shopping for motorcycle gear and decided to try this place out, which was just around the corner from where we were shopping. First words out of our waitress? Is this your first time? Yes. More than happy to help you. By the way ‘We love giving samples.' ‘What would you like to try?’ ‘Here’s my favorite and why.’ How can you resist such attention, enthusiasm, and energy? Nearly impossible. We got to try a couple of things before deciding on our final orders. Everything is super fresh, made on site (hummus especially). Service impeccable. While we were eating, the server came by twice to 1) make sure we had received our $5 gift card, and 2) that everything was as we had hoped. New customers get a $5 gift card towards next visit – a nice enticement to be back for more. Great little find, would be back if/when in the area.
Yummy Staff were cheerful and made my first experience one to remember. I will be back!
This is such a special place! It was my first time here and had ordered a large order for several people. They got the order perfectly and thoughtfully waited to add fresh ingredients to the to-go order until I arrived so that everything would stay fresh. The folks working at Chello were SO welcoming, kind, and even offered samples of several dishes. All of the food was amazing---so flavorful and fresh! I would highly recommend Chello Grill to anyone!
The employees are so nice and helpful,it was our first time eating here,she made suggestions that were yummy. Got to sample items,the chicken stew and eggplant with garlic so good.. Hummus was excellent, chicken and beef kabobs so good Wish had one of these in TN.Before we leave town will be going back to try different items.
So disappointed. Ordered $50 worth of food. Ordered chicken kabobs. The picture showed grilled chicken with vegetables and rice.What I got was 5 pieces of chicken with salad and a dressing that was too spicy. The chicken was a little dry. Was really looking forward to the grilled vegetables not romaine lettuce and cucumber salad.I ordered salad as well which we didn't eat since there was so much salad with the chicken.We also ordered the falafel appetizer that was really good and quite frankly salvaged the meal.Was embarrassed as my friend was over and I would have liked to impress her rather than watch her remove all the romaine from her plate.Good falafel is NOT enough for me to return. There are so many other choices in town for Mediterrean food. And Chello is one of the more expensive options.
Nice clean place, the food is fresh and delicious. The ladies at the counter were very helpful to my gluten free wife. Chello Grill has vegan and gluten free options and the desserts are great, definitely worth coming in. Will order take out sometime soon!
