An extremely roomy restaurant with a nice variety of food to choose from. I liked the food, it's not the greatest in the area but is very tasty. The stuffed sopapilla was really good, but the rice and beans seemed a bit watery. There is a lot of room for large groups. The staff was very friendly and professional. Plenty of parking available, but the area is a little shady, so don't leave valuables in your car.
Extremely poor service. Just left after waiting over 45 minutes to order dinner. EVERY table that was seated after us received their food. Walked out and wont go back.
better servers..food qualty
Food not worthy. Service poor. They were busy but after 15 years of eating Hispanic food in Tucson I could not believe what was served
An ABQ institution. Consistently great New Mexican food. It's the tasty, relaxed, and affordable place that Burquenos have cherished for decades.
My last experience wasn't that great for the first time in many years. Usually service is top notch but it seemed as if we were being ignored order drinks took awhile to get 2 iced teas then ignored again for about 23 mins in-between the waiter is approaching other guest that came in after us took time getting their drinks and talking away. By the time we were ready to pay we had been there over 2 hrs. Yes we could've just got up and left but we've been craving food from here and as it's over a 2 1/2 hour drive from home it took every ounce of patience we had. Note we've been coming here since I was a kid which is 20+ years and never had an experience like this one. Hope to never had the same experience ever again so I don't have to take my business elsewhere.
My husband and I are old enough to have eaten in restaurants like this back in the 70's and 80's and that's exactly what Cervantes is: an old-fashioned dinner joint dating back to the mid-70s. Cervantes serves up really delicious Mexican food at *very* reasonable prices. Recommended: Huevos rancheros with Carne Adovada, & Carne Avovada dinner. The roasted green chili salsa was fabulous, clearly homemade with love and lots of flavor. My spouse tried coming back to Cervantes a couple weeks later when he was in the area again and was genuinely disappointed that it was closed that night.
Came here with dad and sis tonight and it was really a treat! Lovely dining room decorated with tasteful Valentine's Day decor and NM Art. Large mirrors made the place seem open. Of course, we arrived in time for the mariachis and my sis discovered a new love for their music! The food (tamale plate, carnitas, taco salad) was delicious and came in time and we all enjoyed our night and this cozy and friendly restaurant!
Cool spot to grab some New Mexican fare located conveniently close to Kirtland. It's certainly a unique building, and we ended up eating in an old school lounge looking room. The menu consists of typical fare you find locally here, including tacos, burritos and tamales. The food was good, and was just the right portion size for lunch. The sopapillas were great as well. Service was super friendly and the food arrived quickly.
Great atmosphere, a little loud. The service was great, very friendly and attentive! Our orders were promptly served and delicious! Would definitely recommend to others!
