This ls basically my first time in Albuquerque. I thought we would stay in Old Town because it would be interesting and might be walkable. We chose to walk to El Vado hotel and get food from Buen Provecho. It's a cute outdoor food court and motel in the Adobe style.Bo5h the Bartender and the Cashier were apathetic. The vibe from the staff was very LA or Austin cool.Provecho cashier successfully discouraged me from ordering dinner by insinuating it would be a thirty minute wait.Basically I came enthusiastic and looking to try something new and instead I was met with indifferent staff.I ordered the "chips" because as a former restaurant worker I know that chips and salsa don't usually take long. It only took ten minutes for them to arrive but it also took the same amount of time for the family that came after me to get their dinner. I was fine , not too disappointed but I just don't understand discouraging guests from ordering food. There is a way to relate a possible long wait in a positive manner.

Had the yuca fries and fried plantains, with a beer from the El Vado Taproom, on the lively and pleasant plaza. Delicious and so lovely...

We were in Albuquerque less than 48 hours and we ate here THREE times. Everything we ordered was perfect.

Surprisingly wonderful fast food. The carnitas comes a bit crispy, as it should. The little side dishes are tasty and complementary. When you go, chances are it will be the only food place with a line. There are reasons for this.

You walk in to this place to order and your senses are hit with warmth, spice, freshness and smiles! We were blown away by our casados, mine pulled pork and Jenny's Chicarron (deep fried pork). Served with rice, beans, plantains, picadillo stew, fresh salad (with pickled veg), fried egg and corn tortilla: a plate full, but we still ate every bite. Washed down with fresh made fruit frescos. Perfect. No doubt, best value meal we had in our week in NM.

Outdoor dining only at this place. Order at the counter/entrance. Good food. The chicken tamale was moist and flavorful, about $7/piece. A little pricy, small portion.

My mother and I went here yesterday. It was awesome! The owner/server/everything was super welcoming and friendly. We ordered a ton of food to eat there and take away. The presentation was beautiful and everything was bursting with flavor. The Ropa Vieja platter was outstanding. The portions were so generous that we took boxes home in addition to what we had ordered for her friends at work that night. Mom said at one point, "If they are on a delivery app, I'm done! I'll order from here all the time!!" The awkward parking and a short walk that comes standard with going to El Vado is totally worth it for this place. Even sitting outside in January wasn't bad. The food came quickly and the service was efficient and friendly. We WILL be back!

This was absolutely some of the best food I have ever eaten in my life. Hands down, no question. I can’t imagine they’ve got a weak link on their whole menu. Worth the wait and then some!

The dinner we ate here was amazing! There was one person in our party who cannot eat gluten, and the gluten-free empanadas were so good we initially thought we must have gotten some with gluten by mistake! (To be clear, we didn't. They were gluten free.)
