Today is the first time I bought a dozen donuts from Bristol. They are all so yummy! Our favorites include the Orange Blossom fresh whipped cream filled sugar donut, the Vanilla Bean braided donut, and any donut containing coffee and/or chocolate.
If you're even remotely gluten sensitive, I would not recommend a gluten free pastry from here. Out of the two times I've eaten a gluten free pastry from here (a single bite of a GF donut today, and a GF donut 4 years ago) I've experienced massive cross contamination. My husband and son are very mildly sensitive to gluten and also experienced symptoms. I've eaten plenty of gluten free items from other bakeries that are not gluten free environments and never had cross contamination as bad as I've had from Bristol. Thankfully, there are plenty of good options for proper gluten free items in Albuquerque.
Bristol Donuts is makes the best donuts I've ever had. That's a big statement, but it's the absolute truth. They're rich, tasty, and satisfying in a way that's hard to describe unless you've experienced it. It's not about fancy flavors or weird toppings - you won't find green chule bacon donuts or gummy worms here. Instead, it's about flawless execution of old favorites, with enough variety to keep it from getting boring. If you haven't tried their donuts, you're missing out!
Had similar experiences as Jesse. Never have donuts in stock and slow service. Maybe not worth the time.
The best (and biggest) doughnuts I have ever seen. And the prickly pear syrup and jelly they sell is out of this world!
Locally owned and operated business with craft donuts and decent espresso. (Anyone who follows James Hoffmann show love for coffee). Many interesting flavor combinations with the donuts but tried the standard cake maple glazed. Excellent. Not heavy, nor overly sweet. The glaze had real maple. Definitely worth a stop.Staff friendly and courteous, facility clean.
Will always make time for this company when I’m around since they’re the best doughnuts I’ve had in all my traveling. It’s a small business, with a couple of permanent options and a few that change with the season. Always pleasantly surprised with the new options, can’t wait to return. The super cute space is also a plus.
The big double decker bus in the parking lot caught my attention. So cool. The donut ? shop is quaint, warm and welcoming. Dining in is allowed. The staff are friendly. The donuts are hand made and the TLC in that process adds just the right seasoning. The dough is soft and melts in your mouth. The coffee was spot on. The flavor profile is smooth and rich. The price is in line with a quality product without being pretentious and over priced. Plus, is you buy two donuts and a drink you get 10% off your order. That's a deal since I was going to buy just that regardless. When I am on that end of Comanche I will make it a point to stop and get some donuts.
The doughnuts are not too sweet so the flavors really stand out, and the flavors are imaginative and brilliant. My first experience was a London fog cream doughnut!
I really wanted to like this place. I like the idea of it, with the cool British bus out front. The people were kind and competent, but the selection was rather poor and donut (or fritter in my case) and coffee were mediocre. This place isn't in my typical stomping grounds, so I'm not sure I'll have cause to revisit and see if things have improved.
