We were excited to try this place as vegan options in Albuq are slim and they are the closets we found. The food had no seasoning, no sauces and was just bland. My wife was excited about the cooking classes but is a way better cook already.
This is a great place to check out. The food seems to follow Ayurveda guidelines and is quite tasty. The kitchari is wonderful and I love all the options for toppings. If you’re not hungry stop in for a chai as it is one of the best around. It can get busy at times but if needed you can get anything to go. A lot of vegetarian options that you will love even if you are not. ?
The food is good. The Google site says that they offer curbside pick up at this location. Sadly in reality, they do not offer curbside pick up. When I called and asked to find out how to do that after ordering and paying for food through Selflane, the young man who answered said, "We don't do that! (Offer curbside pick up as advertised.) You will HAVE to come in to pick up your order."
The Annapurnas at Eubank needs help. The food quality and customer service has gone so far down hill that the dishes and customer service do not remotely resemble the standards of the same cafe's on Silver Street in Albuquerque and their location in Santa Fe. I've been a loyal regular with Annapurnas for years, but the food quality, customer service and positive atmosphere at the Eubank cafe have deteriorated to the point I will not go back. Today my order arrived with missing ingredients, and was watered down beyond any recognition of what the dish actually was. I asked for help and the "weekend chef/part-time manager" immediately launched into an exhausting 10-minute discussion, loudly talking over me (bully style) - my order (which was not edible) was refunded. No apologies. No offer to make it right. This was not my first customer service nightmare at this location. On many occasions I've watched the employees sitting around eating plates of food on their cell phones. When you're ready to order, you'll get a look of disdain as if you're interrupting, and what you're asking for is an imposition. Orders are routinely wrong, and there is a negative response to any feedback. The food quality and presentation at the Eubank Cafe is poor to mediocre depending on who is in the kitchen. The Silver Street and Santa Fe locations of Annapurnas, my first experiences with this local gem, have the best vegan- vegetarian food anywhere. The staff are friendly, and professional. The food arrives in a timely fashion, and is prepared with care. The menu specials change and are delicious. You feel good eating there and want to support them and return. We don't have many vegan options in the neighborhood or this review would have surfaced earlier. It is sad and seems like no one cares. Until there is change happening at the Annapurnas on Eubank, it is not worth the visit. Hope they get it together or another vegetarian - vegan option pops up in the heights.
I love this restaurant and have been to all the ABQ locations. This one is nice, in a strip mall on the north side. My husband and I both love, love, love the cauliflower tacos on the dosa. Delicious! (I sometimes crave their black beans which are so good. I will say they were pretty salty during this visit. Almost to the point where I couldn’t eat them. I’ve never experienced this before-they are usually perfect) We also ordered food to go to eat for dinner. It was a sample platter of some Indian dishes and a beet salad. All of it was delicious! The girl who was our cashier was very friendly and the prices are reasonable and the food is always fresh. We do have one complaint about this visit. (hence 4 stars) There was a young man who came in for his shift and he immediately started talking to his coworkers and using very foul language.(every other word was an f-bomb) We are not prudes but felt it was very unprofessional-it was also very easy to hear because there is no music playing in the restaurant. We were sitting at the front of the restaurant and the counter where he was, is at the back. We hope this was an isolated incident, perhaps a very bad day for him, as we’ve never experienced this before. This is my favorite restaurant and I will definitely be back and hopefully we will only hear kindness from the mouths of the employees next time.
Horrible food! First I walked in and it was so cold. Ordered the stir fry. Went to use restroomwhich was locked. The backdoor was open where all the cold air had entered the restaurant. The stir fry was dominated by the sauce. So salty and too strong a flavor. They do not know how to cook.
Every time I eat a Annapurna's I think "Oh this is the best ever!". Then I try something else...and "Oh, THIS is the best ever!" Then the next time I will try something else ... and yeah. "Nope, THIS is the best ever!"I really love this place; the food is wonderful, the staff is always friendly and patient, and the whole experience is guaranteed to improve your day. Thanks so much!
Update: one member of our party got food poising from the veggie burger. He has been sick for 48 hours and NO it isn’t covid. We won’t be back. EVER!A friend wanted to come here for her birthday dinner. When I went to pay for the 4 of our meals, they would not accept a $100 bill for a $69 meal! I only had $68 in smaller bills. Apparently, they do not accept $100 bills even for a LARGE value meal! My friend had to pay the balance for her bday meal and tip on her card! I was mortified and embarrassed. I will never go back because of the lack of flexibility on payment. I’ll admit the food was good but not good enough to deal with the hassle. I could understand if it was a $10 meal, but it was not. Maybe the establishment will fix this or maybe they won’t, but we won’t be going back.
We stopped loving this place over the last few visits. Quality of food preparation was below standard. The fries were stone cold, the wraps just filled with lettuce and a couple pieces of eggplant, no dressing, no hummous. The server did not care that we were unhappy and would not replace our fries and returned from the kitchen with some hummous and reluctantly gave us some balsamic dressing which had been left out of our dishes and listed on the menu as included. The overall impression was that no one cared. We are vegetarians and have been going to this reataurant many times regularly. It is sad to say that we wont go back with the current management policies. We have been to restaurants all over the world and no one brings out cold fries and food below the standard listed on the menu then just shrug their shoulders and walk away. I even had tipped him at 18 per cent and he did not say anything and walked away saying that is our policy to not give extra food.
Not worth it at all. Honestly I got so little for my money it feels like I was taken advantage of. I ordered the Lebanese wrap for $9. What I received were two tortillas filled with maybe a tablespoon each of eggplant and hummus, and then the other 99% a very unfresh salad mix. It's insulting and you could do better at home. Don't eat here.Update: Got a refund. I'll bump it up a star for that. But the point still stands. Don't eat here.
