Best restaurant. Staff is great, food is great and prices are good. I'm from Montreal, Canada and everytime I go to New Jersey its a must that I eat at Top Knotch restaurant.
Every time my husband and I come here, it’s always empty. I see why they have a decline of customers. The food is salty, they never have corn bread, and the owners are rude! I recently went there to order and being 7 months pregnant I needed to use the bathroom first. I asked (what appears to be one of the owners) if I could use it before I ordered and when I went in the bathroom they didn’t have toilet paper. I let her know and she had this weird look on her face. So, I asked if she had napkins. She said “no”, then told me I couldn’t use it. This was basically the last straw, my husband and I won’t be coming here any longer. It seems we’re not the only ones! Wish I could give zero stars, since 1 is being overly generous!
Too much salt!!!I’m so disappointed. I ordered the meatloaf and fried chicken with Mac n cheese and potato salad and everything was filled with salt. I couldn’t even enjoy the food and had to throw it out. Please use less salt.Their desserts were good though.
Only my grandma's soul food gets a 5 star but this is a close second!I've tried most soul food places throughout New Jersey and this new place is in the top 5 in my opinion. Taste and plate portion is their strength. Service was professional and with a smile. Unfortunately there are more popular and well known soul food places in NJ that have poor service at best and you can forget about a smile. Anyway-do yourself a favor and try the meatloaf here. It's so good!
There is so much to say about this place.I enjoyed the food and the company. Everything was homemade the meatloaf, macaroni and cheese and the potato salad. Love everything about this place on in the area on rt22 best soul food place on rt 22 Give it a try.
The food was too salty to enjoy. The portion size was good. The food would be more enjoyable if it wasn't so salty.
We purchased smothered fried chicken - chicken and waffles- shrimp in garlic - and many sides plus that corn bread ? THE best soul food. I will be going back. This food is like no other. You need to try this food.. im about to nap.. lol so glad I found this business in my community. well done ? ✔️
I was looking for some good meatloaf and this place came up on Google, and I am so very happy it did. It's tucked in off of rt 22 and I've passed it 100 times never knowing it was there. The meatloaf was out of this world Mac and cheese and cornbread best I've ever had. Huge portion too $15 and it fed two adults for dinner and we still had left overs. The food tastes like it's home cooked, and now that we've found this place it's definitely going into our rotation of best eats in Springfield area, keep doing what you're doing!!! See you soon
What a delight to discover this wonderful restaurant thru Seamless. I had the garlic shrimp with cabbage and corn and the food was quite savory and was hot when it was delivered. I would have given 5 stars but like many of the other reviewers, I have to agree there is a bit too much salt in the food. If they scale back just a smidge they would still have great tasting food without such a high salt content. Overall, I would say you should try it and see for yourself. I give a thumbs up.
Don't wait. Absolutely delicious. HUGE portions. Made with love obviously. Went in and got the meatloaf... outstanding. Favorite place in Union now. The owner was sooo nice. Her mother and her opened just before covid and props to them! They've been not only able to survive during the pandemic, but thrived. That's how you know this place is legit.
