My friend & I had been wanting to try this place for a while, but we never seemed to catch them when they were open. One day a few weeks ago, we randomly drove past 5 minutes before close. I pulled over & we ran inside. While the kitchen was already closed, the staff graciously agreed to fire up the kitchen & prepared us what they had on hand. We had the chicken & fish platters & an assortment of sides - mac & cheese, collard greens, yams and cornbread. Thank you Mark for accommodating us! We'll definitely be back for a proper sit-down dinner.
First let me start by saying the people who served us were awesome! They were attentive and pleasant. The food was delicious reminded me of my grand momma cooking and they offer breakfast! I will be returning. Last but not least the bathroom was clean, like very clean and they had the good soap. Best soulfood place I have been to in a while.
Absolutely incredible. my family and I visited this restaurant for the first time following my grandfather's home going service. Not only was the food top tier, fresh and well seasoned, Marks energy was fun and comforting. The fried turkey wings were amazing, potato salad 10/10, the ribs were falling off the bone and the Mac and cheese ? perfection?Thank you
The service was great with a warm smile. The food was so to delicious. You have to check it out. I will be going back real soon.
My husband and I are very new to the area and decided to try The Soul Food Factory and oh my lord we are so glad that we did! That food was ohhhhhhh so good! The first thing I tried was the Mac n cheese because we all know that everyone can’t make Mac n cheese correctly lol. They are 100% APPROVED! from the Mac to the yams to the corn bread and those fall off the bone turkey wings …whewww yes we sure shall be going back!
I love this soul food restaurant and will look no further. It’s my 2nd time eating here and the food is amazing. The cook/owner John is such a sweet heart. I struggle with emotional illness and were having a moment today. John took the time to talk to me, offered me some wine and made me feel so optimistic and ready to tackle life. He had no idea how much better he made me feel. I did a root canal yesterday and expressed to John I had not eaten all day. He cooked my fish platter soft as he promised and I was able to finally eat. I wish John and his business the best of luck. Please support this black owned business!
Food was good and the guy taking orders was very nice. Wish they were open to dining in. Looks like it has a nice ambiance from what I could see.
If you want soul food, look no further. Each time I need my soul food fix I ask my husband to order from here. Food is reasonably priced. I love the catfish, mac&cheese and the calabash which is a cabbage/collard green mix (so yummy). My husband loves their oxtails with rice and cabbage. The corn bread is always perfect! The staff is friendly and management is great. They’re a family owned business and I wish they had more locations in the tri-state area but they provide catering so if you’re having an event soon, I’d definitely give them a call. I can’t wait until they reopen for indoor dining. They’re only providing takeout for now.
Currently take out only. The food is amazing and delicious. They are so fast and efficient.Be careful if you get the grits because they are HOT!!
The staff was extremely unorganized at the Food Truck Festival in Union on 10/9/2021. They were taking orders and your cash. Then after waiting over 15 minutes and inquiring they informed us that it would be 20 more minutes. That ultimately ended up being more like 35 minutes. Despite that experience my family and I decided to give them another try the next day. We ordered on Door Dash. It said it would be delivered in 60 minutes. The door dasher messaged saying he was there waiting for the order twice. After 40 minutes he messaged saying the staff told him they were closed and could not finish our order. Never again we gave them 2 times to get it right and they failed. They will NOT get a 3rd chance.
