I had the grilled squid today and they were not cleaned properly and it smelled very fishy. Everyone sitting around me (about 8 people) saw this and said the same about the smell. There was a jelly like substance inside the squid. When I advised the waitress and showed her, she told the manager. The manager said that because they had served 7 plates before me and no one complained that I still had to pay for them. I don’t have a problem paying for quality/cleaned food but that was not the case. I hope I don’t get sick from improperly cleaned seafood.Re: your response to my reviewI appreciate your return correspondence. At this point, I have no reason to call the facility. The problem was brought to the managers attention in front of me while it happened and his response was given at that moment. Which is why I resorted to coming here to leave the review.

I have to say the sangria is amazing from this place !!! Passion fruit is my favorite and the food speaks for itself awesome place for a group of people to enjoy a good time and an amazing meal ! 5 stars !

I went to lunch with one other person. I get the bill and a see a service charge and a fee. The fee is for using card not cash, already ridiculous! Then I ask what is the 18% service charge if it’s only a party of 2? The lady tells me the system puts it on and she doesn’t know how to take off. Outrageous!

Super pretty from the inside & out, fancy & excellent attention from waiters. music adds to the great vibe.

Nice restaurant but the Sangria is so sweet and over price for what they give you all ice. Ordered a Redsnaper and it was over cooked they took it back to bring me another one and brought me Tilapia like I didn't know the difference.Very disappointing. Won't go back. The other orders were good that's why I'm giving them ⭐⭐⭐.

Atmosphere was okay . However the young waiter was good. One plate of fish was brought to the table for eight people ( wasn’t enough) . The waiter was told immediately and a request for more was made, 30 minutes later no fish or chicken. Management was requested , he stated , that was it. He implied, his waiter didn’t understand. Bullshit…….The waiter never came back to the table…

We dined at Lagar following funeral services of a dearly and affectionate departed soul...We were part of a large group of roughly 100+.The staff were adequately staffed, attentive to our needs, and genuinely early and pleasant to engage with. Characteristics, as such, that I find, are few and far in-between.I would return, if nothing to say hello and order their delicious appetizers. As I left, I stopped in the bar section, and spoke with several members of the staff to express my gratitude. For the most part, they were genuinely appreciative and touched. As was myself.. However, there was one older gentleman that said if I was so pleased that I should give him a tip..I hid my shock of his statement and said something to the effect of the power of words and notes of accolades, etc. But, there seated to my far right was a young man. He immediately explained to the gentleman " Wow. That was not very nice."I was touched by the young man's common sense, maturity and integrity to come to my defense and not embrace the rude comment of his co-worker.Instead his reply was another reflection of the fine service that we received. That young man, the lady and the rest of the group, are what class and style are all about, and why I encourage more visitors to dine at The Lagar Restaurant.Thank you.were mist gracious.

Very nice looking place but the food just wasn't that great. The appetizers were good the calamari, garlic shrimp, Portuguese sausage all good , but the main dishes weren't that good the one dish had imitation crab meat only one clam and the rice was mushy the salmon was dry not very good for the price you pay there.

Very over priced for what you get. The area is very nice and pleasant ambiance. Most if not all the items are what I believe to be premade or frozen. Much better Portuguese options in the area. Also they automatically charge gratuity on a table of 2 which I found strange.

Outside seating as well as bar and Dining Room. Good size. The Stuffed Mushrooms with Crabmeat were tasty as well as the Shrimp Appetizer. The Skirt Steak with the Cheese Sauce was good as well as the Cod. Service was on point.
