NO LONGER Reliable food with an overpriced selection for most standard food like salads, burgers,, and sandwiches. Prices have risen ridiculously since the pandemic. If you order out, check your order before leaving because they rarely get it right. And the little guy up front, who may be the owners brother, is cognitively slow and not reliable for anything. Update: omg, this last order will literally be the last takeout. They got more wrong than they got right. Disgusted with the service. I ordered marinara sauce for the chicken fingers and it was missing with the order despite being on the check. Also, the bread for sandwich was outright stale. And the staff doesn't give a hoot as long as they get your money.
You may or may not know Huck Finn and Mark Twain Diners located on Morris Ave were once owned by the same individuals. Now they are separate. Both are still good. But Huck Finn is better at this time. They go through periods when one outshines the other. Huck gets the nod now. If you are near Twain. There is no reason to skip ol Samuel Clemons. But all things being equal. Huck Finn is the better choice at this time.
This is the place as similar to home/community and family dining.I love the salads and turkey burger platters.The desserts are fresh, delectable and yummy.The wait and service staff are well trained and personable.If you are in Union,NJ. please have a platter of sweet potato fries and visit often.
Went in for a late night sweet. Service was professional, however, the eclair I bought had an aftertaste that made me regret going in. I also got a Oreo cake that tasted a bit too much like sugared cream cheese. Will not be getting baked goods from here.
Food was delicious. Still has that old school diner feel. Service was on point as well.
Oh My Goodness Gracious Me, what an absolutely scrumptious meal we had, brought to us by our Amazingly Sweet & Attentive Server HALLEY, we started off with French Onion Soup, then a Sampler Platter and Greek French Fries, then a Grilled Chicken Breast with Portabello Mushrooms and Arugula for me, Chicken Parm for my Partner and Seafood Alfredo for our Daughter, we finished with Vanilla Ice-cream and Baclava Cheascake for dessert, I think I won't need to eat again till Tuesday ????
Great service delicious food
I went here & got the cream of Turkey soup & a half egg salad sandwich. The soup you would have thought was dip because it was so thick & had no taste. The egg salad tasted like vinegar, certainly not mayo. The waitress said “You don’t like the soup?” & when I told her no she shrugged it off & said “Oh” & still charged me for it even though I didn’t eat it. I will never be returning here again.
Cole slaw is on point and the team there work super hard and are very sweet. Classic NJ diner
