“I have gone back many times saying maybe it was a bad day, to busy whatever but this time I think was my last time.”I copied this from a review that Sue left a month ago. I couldn’t agree more after eating there yesterday. Placed an order to go through chownow. Food was actually ready earlier than expected considering the fiasco I experienced there two weeks ago (yelling customers, cancelling orders backed up with people waiting two hours for food etc..)Got home. Barely warm food..as it’s been the past few times I’ve ordered. Got the breaded steak entree with white rice and black beans. Only thing truly edible were the beans. Steak taste old and had a bad smell. It makes sense seeing the other recent reviews about food poisoning/people getting sick. Wonder what’s going on back there. This used to be the place I would highly recommend to people. Unfortunately I don’t think that’s the case anymore. Hopefully the quality returns to what it once was in the past.
I have been going to their food trucks for the longest!! Fantastic! I have also frequented the restaurant since they have been opened the last 5 years + and I am sorry to say, not as good as they once were. I have gone back many times saying maybe it was a bad day, to busy whatever but this time I think was my last time. I ordered 2 dinners and 1 sandwich (tripleta- pernil, ham, steak $13)I don't mind paying but if you look at the picture I can't tell what I got and the tomatoe?? Really? Where are the potatoe stix? I always try and support local businesses but I can no longer support this.
Great authentic Puertorrican restaurant! Love the “arroz con gandules” with “pernil” and “mofongo” taste just like my grandmas back in the island, love the “Jibarito Sandwich” Roasted pork, lettuce, tomato, cheese in between two fried plantain buns absolutely delicious! I ? recommend the “alcapurria de Yuca” taste just like the ones you would get in piñones but BETTER!! Don’t forget to try the “pasteles de guineo” and the dessert! “Flancocho” is my favorite!!
I made a catering order from them to be picked up at 6 pm on Saturday April 30th. The food was being packed when I arrived so I left to get some other stuff and came back. I feel like they have just got done cooking it. It was hot smelled amazingly delicious and the portions were omg. My family couldn’t stop raving and ranting about how good the food was. Thank you guys so so much for making the party a success and rave with your delicious food. I truly appreciate that. Definitely keeping you guys as my #1 Catering business
Update: the issue was that it wasn't kind as you mentioned. The girl didn't even tell me she was putting me on hold or tell me what was happening. She just rudely kept saying 'hold on". If this was all COMMUNICATED to me, I would have happily held. I understand that you said it was a lunch rush but again that could've been communicated to me, not just be rudely dismissed. Again, my issue was with customer service. Best of luck but I'll be taking my business elsewhere.Young girl on the catering line is extremely rude and unhelpful. Tried placing an order for an event as I’ve heard good things about this place but no thanks. She was so sarcastic and acted like I was the biggest bother. Work on your customer service.
Very great food , very authentic taste . ? the place was very packed at lunch time so try to place your order ahead I got the chopped chicken thigh platter with manduros and yellow rice
muy limpio buena calidad de comida y un servio excelente.
Lechon negron was semi ok.the alcapurrias where bland they needed sofrito flavor in them, the arros con gandules was meh! Gandules super dry , the lechon was ok but just a big hype. I would not travel another hour just for a hype oh the pasteles were good just a little off on salt to enhance flavor. size of pasteles are worth it.texture is good also 2 pasteles 2 alcapurrias 1 = 16oz soda 2 order of lechon with arros con gandules platanos maduros another order with white rice abicheula/yuca cocida y lechon total = 43$+tip take out
Lo recomiendo?? buen servicio rápido y sabrosa su comida y postres ?
Great price, fast and friendly service, they were busy with online pickup orders, lots of delicious food choices, sweet and salty. This was carne frita with arroz gandules, in a full, sturdy container, I definitely had leftovers for tomorrow! There is a $10 minimum for credit cards and 3.5% processing fee. Has an online website for orders. Cute decor and beautiful art on the wall.
