Update 6/22:Not sure what happened. Prices went up, which isn't too much of a big deal, inflation has hit everyone. But to pair it with the food quality going down, not a fan.I ordered my usual and it came out to ~$13 more than usual, but the meat portion was bigger than before. I still prefer the way they had it before.Not sure if they changed cooks or what, but my ropa vieja came super watery and the taste was off. It tasted more like beef stew. And the arroz moro/congri was so moist that I had to throw it on a pan and fry it before eating it.Had the prices gone up and the food quality stayed the same, I would've kept the 5 stars. But you can't have the price increase plus the quality go down.It won't be my last time trying it tho. They were consistently good for a long time. I will try again and hope that they haven't transitioned to consistently not good. I'll update my rating at that time.3/22:Place has great food. Workers are always nice. My go to place the days that they have ropa vieja. Pastelon and ensalada de papa are also good. Def recommend you go.
Went here after my graduation after my reservation at another place got canceled. So glad I came here instead. Service was amazing and food was wonderful. Fantastic prices, especially for the area. They were able to seat my party of 8 comfortably.
OMG tastes like mom cooked the meals. The tipico plate is great. Tamales en Oja and Pernil are so good. You need to visit and feel like you are on the island.
Authentic Puerto Rican food. Great flavor and generous portions. Service is great. Evelyn, my server, was an absolute doll. The 2 other members of the staff whom I interact with were also lovely. I also would like to add that the bathroom was spotless which is super important to me. I will definitely come back here and tell my friends about it.
10/10 Service 10/10 customer Service and the food was amazing I highly recommend they all speak Spanish and English so you won't have any problems talking w/ them to order something
I’ve been visiting Mi Islita for some time and I will say the food is amazing the staff and owner are also Amazing, I have sent many of my friends and they love it. What is disturbing is people complaining about prices when there food is not over pricedIf a restaurant does not increase their prices by a few cents or even a dollar how do they survive when the price of food and meat has gone up.Stop it!!! And go enjoy the wonder food and services

I tried this restaurant last night with my sister and mother and we absolutely loved it! The food is truly authentic. Everything taste delicious. We tried la sopa de pollo, pollo guisado, bistec salteado, and la roja vieja. The quinientos de escabeche were to die for! Omg also the best rice and beans I've tried on Bergenline. The staff was friendly and gave awesome recommendations. This is going to be my favorite local restaurant! The prices are super affordable. I highly recommend you check them out!
