I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. It’s really scary for me to eat out where they cook a lot of seafood. I am severely allergic. So I worry a lot about cross contamination. I was assured that they are very alert about allergies. I ordered 3 fried whiting fish 2 fried chicken wings coleslaw and french fries. The fish was perfectly cook and the wings were very flavorful. I liked the coleslaw a lot. But they failed to me, the french fries. The fries were not crispy they were on the soggy side were not hot either. I can tell they just threw in frozen fries and did not cook it long enough. And you can’t go onto the store at all. The man will be at the door to give you your food. Call ahead of time. Because if you don’t you will be waiting outside for your food.
This is one of the few places left in my opinion that makes good consistent soul food. I’ve been eating here for a little bit over five years now.My favorite dish is the turkey wings with rice gravy and collard greens! They also have ribs pork chops anything you could imagine. Service is semi-slow but the food is definitely high-quality for the price.
This is my 3rd time having their food and I’m never ever disappointed! Thank you for great quality and consistently providing great service!

Oxtails and cabbage gave me diarrhea. I dont know if they change the grease. Pork chops could be better if floured better. The quality of food has gone down.Go to The Big Easy in downtown trenton.
Good Food
We arrived at this restaurant for a meeting. This spot was recommended to us by a friend. Well, it was a winning. The staff welcomed us with a smile and we had a fantastic feeling. The food was just great. We loved this spot a lot and we shall absolutely come back again. We recommend this place to all.
Plenty of good food for your buck
If you want food that possibly won't kill you, then this place is not it. I went for the turkey wings and whatever disaster they were serving for sides...and all I can tell you is that, I lost a day...whoever's cooking that food with hate, attitude and deer ankles need to STOP...
Amazing food, portions are more than enough especially for the prices that are more than reasonable and fast friendly service. Try the short ribs w gravy w/ mac n cheese n greens and banana pudding is definitely worth the fact you won't move for the next hour from eating too much good food????? I don't write reviews ever but this place is definitely worth getting the word out there how good the food is and the one in Ewing is just as good.
