Excellent food! Brought back memories of eating here as a youngster growing up in Trenton. We will be back!
Plain but great setting. Really good food!!!!
I first went to the Homestead with my father and one of his closest friends in the late 1960s when both Chick and Nello were alive and in charge and went back with some regularity until both my father and his friend died. Occasionally I drove up from Philidelphia after that, but hadn't been there since the latter 1990s when Ernie was , as I remember, running the show. What a fool to let those years slip by. It is still locked in time, yes - now there is a printed menu and they take credit cards - but Nello himself could have been cooking the meal and if that's being locked in time, keep it that way!
Whew. What an absolutely incredible experience. I'd like to thank Mike and Pete for the fantastic bar and table service, respectively. You don't get character and friendliness like this anymore. Best negroni I've ever had...get the green beans (add the provolone) and please eat all your vegetables! :)Porterhouse was cooked absolutely perfectly, crusty bread, just a phenomenal meal. I appreciate the opportunity to dine here and thank you for having me on my business trip in from Charleston.
Fabulous food in a great restaurant. Absolutely delicious and great service. My fave place.
We have been dining at this classic restaurant for over 60 years. Consistently delicious! Never disappoints.
Had a great reunion with my dad today. He passed last year but was like he was here at the Homestead House. Met some great friends, had a great time and never really appreciated how much dad meant to me. He loved this place. Thanks Dad. Love you.
Do NOT eat here unless you have an empty stomach. The food was out of control as one thing after another came out to the table. Our waiter Peter was so rude with the water as he never left an empty glass or an empty bread basket. Seriously, the 5 course meal was one of the best I have ever had in a longtime. The service was great. Peter was on point with everything he suggested. The pricing is perfect if not better then most places I have been. From the pasta to the chicken Parmesan to the steak you cannot be disappointed with anything that you order here. BTW order the peanut butter ice cream Jerry Ehrlich from the once great City of Philadelphia
