Was there again for sushi and it did not disappoint! I mean I love a good burger here but also the sushi is always great. Love the Spicy Mayo that comes with Shumai and then The Monkey Roll with crab meat on top, the Kamikaze roll and 3 brothers roll it’s all so good. Used to be our weekly Monday night spot for ladies night, they don’t have that now but still very reasonable price and delicious.
Great Place to meet up with friends for lunch or early dinner. Good menu selections, sushi bar and adult beverages. Anytime I’m in NJ this is my go to bar/restaurant.
The place was packed. Service was slow to get to the table, but improved once the drink order was taken. I suspect they had insufficient wait staff. There were 5 in our group and orders did vary, so we got to see a good sampling. The appetizers were good, but the entrees were just OK. It is possible that the kitchen staff were distracted by the NFL draft that most others were intently watching throughout the restaurant and bar areas. I may give them another chance at some point.
We came into the restaurant about a week and a half ago with no problems. BUT... on mothers day what a nightmare. We must have been seated in the invisible section because when we'd see the waitress (once every 5-10 minutes she would just pass by, sometimes to check on us. She told us she would never disappear on us, and here comes another waitress. She said it.was time for the first one to leave. So she brings out the nachos, which were good. Them she was gone for about 20 minutes. Then my salad can and she brought more drinks. Another 20-30 minutes went by and finally dinner came out, I told her I just wanted a to go container. I was done by then. My husband had class which were Ok at best and her ordered lobster Rosado and it came to the table ice cold and he said it tasted like cat food.I went to try my chicken Marcella and I think they made the sauce a month ago. It was so thick it was ridiculous. If I would have tried it there it would have gone right back.We got to the restaurant at 8:15 and with all the waiting we did we got out of there around 10:15. 2 hour and %100.00 I'll never get back. This was by far the worst food I have ever had.
The one male bartender/manager is one of the rudest most dismissive people I have ever encountered in a customer service/managerial position. The environment at this bar is also not safe for single women. My purse was stolen and not one single person attempted to help me, including the manager. I was also continuously harassed another night by another male patron at the bar and it took another customer to stop it. Nothing was done by the bartenders or managers. Food is good and its a well-known local spot. But be cautious. Its all good until Sh**t happens to you!
I went in with my husband and son. I have to say the place is very outdated. The carpet really needs to be taken out. I was shocked, first time there since covid, the outside is beautiful but inside not so much. Our waitress was busy and that's ok but really didn't take time to interact with us. I get it, sometimes servers just need to go go go and I'm aware of the short staffed nowadays. the calamari was ok, all rings and very lightly breaded. the sushi was delicious as its always been. My son got the cheeseburger slider, they were ok, nothing special, cheese was burnt. my husband had the crab cakes, very large but could have been seasoned better and cooked a tad longer for some crisp. I ordered the peppercorn filet which had no peppercorn and no salt or pepper but it was cooked perfect, medium rare, which was a bummer cause with seasoning it would have been a 10. It was paired with roasted potatoes that were not good, undercooked and loaded with large pieces of rosemary. Also in addition the chili was so spicy!! Too spicy but we ate it. over all i give them 3 stars. we haven't been out in awhile, when i asked the server about an item she said "it was amazing" as she walked by, so I didn't believe her. The walk away is never good.
Love it here. Haven’t had a bad meal yet. Servers are extremely polite.
