We were regular customers here for years. The food is OK. The service ranges from good to bad depending on the waiter. Most recently when I called for a reservation as I normally would, I was told no more reservations. No way I’m going to stand around waiting for a table at this mediocre restaurant. I’ll go to Tardis or Serenity both of which are better and take reservations…and that includes off season.
We used to go here often years ago when my MIL lived in Silverton....spur of the moment ride to Ortley/Seaside to see how it has changed since SUPERSTORM SANDY and then a short walk on the boards. As we were heading back on 37 to get to the GSP, my husband said let's see if Cafe Italia is open....what a great suggestion! Had 2 appetizer specials...the stuffed zucchini blossoms and the artichoke with spinach in an alfredo sauce...both were EXCELLENT and the fresh crusty hot homemade bread was DELICIOUS as well. For our entrées my husband got the PORK OSSO BUCCO SPECIAL with garlic mashed and roasted veegies....I got the Veal Caruso with roasted red peppers, artichokes, and spinach and the garlic mashed and roasted veggies....WE BOTH ENJOYED OUR ENTRÉES IMMENSELY! HIGHLY RECOMMEND and will return when we are in the area! Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable of the menu and specials and was extremely attentive....always checking back and clearing the table.
My mother and father love this place. We went for my mom's birthday and the waiter was phenomenal. The food was even better. If you want authentic, flavorful Italian food please do yourself a favor and go. Thank you for making my mom's birthday one to remember.
The staff there are so nice and accommodating, our waitress was attentive and other waiters and waitresses stopped by our table to make sure we had everything. The food was outrageous. Zuppa de Peace was tasty and calamari was cooked to perfection as was the spaghetti. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great Italian food at the Jersey Shore.
Excellent service, so friendly and attentive! Food was excellent! Price was also very reasonable. Would definitely go back! Loved! We had a pork Ossobuco! Absolutely delicious!
