Sogo is my only Sushi place, all others pale in comparison. We usually get take-out but sometimes dine in (BYOB). Either way the food is fantastic, fresh and beautifully prepared. Def try the Blossom roll and the Black Pearl roll they are big and delicious. A family run business and they are so nice and welcoming. Try it, you’ll love it!
My favorite sushi place in all of red bank- it’s not outrageously expensive and the staff is so nice! highly reccomend the golden roll (picture down below with the avocado)
Super clean and friendly staff. Sushi rolls were fantastic and the hibachi noodles were delicious! Highly recommend
Everything was super delicious ? I would highly recommend it compared to the place across the street if you are looking for good food.
The maki rolls taste good even though its all brown rice. Rolls are a lil small but most places are like that.
PHENOMENAL SUSHI! Look no further for the BEST Japanese food in Monmouth county, possibly the state. No wonder this establishment has lasted in Red Bank for so long. The sushi ingredients were very fresh and rolled with love. The brown rice really makes a difference with a fluffier texture and amazing flavor. I ordered the shrimp tempura roll & spider roll, both of which were cooked perfectly and had the best flavor of any tempura rolls I've ever had. The spider roll is made with ACTUAL crab, NOT that garbage imitation crab meat. I also ordered the iris roll, which I HIGHLY recommend. The purple Japanese yam makes for a uniquely sweet flavor that when mixed with the other vegetables, creates a complex flavor leaving me wanting more.In addition to the sushi, I ordered their miso soup. Although the cup wasn't completely filled, the flavor more than made up for it. It wasn't too salty tasting, either, like many other places often have. This miso soup was fantastic tasting and had a good ratio of tofu & seaweed. I loved that the soup was very hot and fresh, as I ordered take out and didn't consume right away (still was piping hot after 20 something mins. Lastly, I ordered the hibachi noodles. They were cooked excellent, with that soft but firm texture. They used some sort of sauce (lightly, not drenched) with the noodles that paired very well. I believe it could be their teriyaki sauce but it's unlike any other teriyaki sauce I have tried as it's rich, complex, with just a touch of sweet flavor. Absolutely delicious!!All in all, I had a very, VERY pleasant & positive experience at Sogo Sushi. Without a doubt, I will be a life time customer. Their attention to detail, talented cooks & itamae, solid customer service, and OUTSTANDINGLY DELICIOUS food blew me away. This is truly authentic Japanese food at it's best. You will not regret giving this eatery a try!
Skip The other place and come here for real sushi. Excellent, fresh and nice people.
Clean restaurant with delicious food, lovely staff and all for a reasonable price.
I love this place. The last time we went we had the place to ourselves, but then slowly tables started filling up. It's typically quiet and peaceful. Service is quick. Sushi rolls are bite size but fresh and delicious. Hibachi shrimp was great. Fresh veggies cut way too big, but yummy nonetheless. Shrimp had a great grilled flavor, sauce was a bit too salty. Tons of people waiting to pick up orders. They must do a brisk take out service. Gratefully the kitchen and takeout section is partitioned away from the dining in area.
The food is great, very reasonably priced, and the service is impeccable! When there was a slight issue with my order, they fixed it with no problems at all. Will definitely go here again.
