I’ve been super excited to try this place and it was good on some fronts and disappointing on others. We got a 16 ct wings, a 2 meat platter, the jalapeño poppers and a soda. That came to $57. I don’t mind spending that much on lunch but I expect the portions to be plentiful and these were unbelievably paltry. The jalapeño poppers come with 5, and they are tiny. So not really enough to share. The two meat platter was an ok size, but the corn bread was a 2” by 2” cube. 4 bites and gone. The sauces were ok...as someone else said, very heavy on the vinegar. Kind of acidic for bbq sauces. We took the food home and after being disappointed over the small portions, we were disappointed again because they forgot our french fries. We won’t be returning.
This was a pickup order for a large family group. I was born and raised in SC and now live in NC so I know what pulled pork is supposed to look, taste and smell like. I can honestly say that this BBQ is not even close to those made down South. The pork was dry as sawdust and the brisket was close behind. The ribs, instead of 'fall off the bone' were 'chew this rubbery meat off the bone' and was not very tasty at all. All the sauces were watered down and very runny and were very overpowering in the amount of vinegar. None were close to the NC vinegar base or SC mustard base sauces. The most amazing thing we saw was that our family from up there really thought it was good Q! They said the sauce was meant to make it moist and the dry rub an the ribs make them chewy! Wow are they really suffering from lack of good BBQ! Personally I would never purchase BBQ up North. We have tried it in NJ, NY, PA and DE and it just is not up to par with the pit masters down here. So if you are travelling up North from South I would not recommend the Q!
Dry. Everything was dry. Fries were soggy. And onion rings were burned. Please go anywhere else or just barbecue at home
1 star for appearance of the platters. 1 star for the Smokehouse Salad with pulled Chicken, wife said it was very good. 0 stars for Chopped Brisket very greasy, over cooked and dry. 0 stars for ribs, came out barley warm and very dry. They said they were out of sliced Brisket and 1/2 chicken???
All the food is award winning. I highly recommend the ribs and Brussel sprouts. I ordered a lot of food for my family and they forgot a side, the manager went above and beyond to make it right.
Try the meat combo platters! Brisket and pulled pork with all the bbq sauce flavors on the side. Baked beans and french fries sides were plenty to feed a family. Friendly and good service.
Very tasty stuff, really loved the collard greens and the bbq chicken today. They seem to have recently raised their prices and our eyebrows. Could have also used some air conditioning in this heat.
Great food with large portions. Every time I eat it tastes fresh and I'm never left hungry. Friendly staff and quick service. What's not to like? The set up is relaxing and its always a good experience
Terrible food. Served cold. Nothing fresh or tasty. Seems like no one cares about the customer. Never again.
Not so much...had a two meat platter. With brisket and pulled pork. Brisket was super dry and pulled pork was good. Didn't care for their sauces one was too sweet and the other was just okay. Had onion rings as a side they were so greasy. Had coleslaw also and it was mostly tasteless. I am originally from the south where smoke and barbecue are a way of life. And just to be transparent I have yet to find a barbecue restaurant up here that I find meets my expectations.
