We just had a party here for my sons baptism and we were so happy! Jennifer and the waitstaff went above and beyond to make things nice for us. The food was great and all of our guests had a great time! We will be back!
Not my first place to try in Red Bank. Wanted something different though. Pleasantly surprised! Amazing? No... But I had a quality meal with a very good mix of options to choose from that met everyone's needs and it didn't break the bank. Don't get the stuffed chicken. It's two cutlets with the 'stuffing' all towards the middle. However, the lasagna, Milanese, and a few other dishes were good. I'm writing this review les than a week later because it is too of mind as somewhere I may pick something up for tonight. Can't be bad then, right?
Can't say enough about how helpful the staff was (Jennifer) and how enjoyable our meal was.I had out of town guests and needed an intimate table for 14! They arranged it with no hassle.Everyone commented on the quality of the food and how refreshing it was that they didn't have to yell to be heard! A great evening! 5* review.
My husband and I both got specials. Perhaps that was our mistake after living here for years and never hearing anything great about this place. Food took extremely long to be served (about 45 minutes). Bread and olive oil was hot good. It is BYOB. My husband thought his dish was okay, mine was basically inedible and it was tortellini. The owner tried to give us another dish but we declined. Go to Buena Sera for Italian. We had to go down the street for pizza as the food was basically inedible. No wonder we have lived here for years and never once had anyone recommend it. They tried to held us hostage by holding our credit card saying they would make us more food when I didn't feel good and just wanted to go home.
Went on Tuesday evening and place was empty. Disappointed because on line they advertise a fixed price menu valid on Monday, Tuesday and Wed. When seated we asked about it and we’re told they no longer honor it. This was disappointing. We stayed and I would say the salads were very good but my entree, lasagna was very dry. The staff was friendly but I would not return.
The service was pristine. The food was something that any Italian mother would write home about.
I haven't been here in years but decided to go tonight and it did not disappoint! Food was great and our server (wish I could remember her name) was fantastic!! We'll definitely be back soon!
Good service and good/cozy atmosphere. Food was great. Excellent presentation. Rice was a bit under-cooked. The stuffed escarole appetizer was a little light for the price. Tables are too close together.
wish I read the reviews about food poisoning, my husband and I both got sick after our meal. I used to like this place a few years ago, so I wanted to come back but it has definitely gone down hill. food is mediocre and over sauced, we were surprised at how bad it was..how do you ruin chicken parm? as a side note-the service is terrible, they really need to get some better staff in there.
Note that the series of 1-star reviews from a few weeks ago seems to be from one party ganging up on the restaurant. Not fair. I'm sure they could have handled it better, but don't ruin the reputation of an otherwise wonderful spot. 3.9 should be 4.5 or higher.
