This restaurant has some amazing food and is BYOB. The owner Steve and his Staff are a lot of fun and make great hosts. They also partner with PlateRate, so if you try this restaurant out using PlateRate (pickup, delivery, or dine in), you get a 60% credit to order again for trying the highest rated menu items on your first order, and 30% to try new highly rated menu items on future visits. Once you've tried all their best tasting food, New York Pizza and Restaurant will be one of your go to favorites you order from all the time - it is for me!
Changed ownership not too long ago. Pizza is just like from the City (NY); and is great!. Reasonable prices and great variety.
They get 2 stars because the new owner is an absolute class act. However we were really disappointed with our order this evening. The grandma pie was so extremely salty. We thought it may be the anchovies but the other regular side was really salty. Even the mussels were really salty. I think they need to try the competitors in town. Really sorry to post this guys but hope you improve!
This place used to be horrendous. The new owners have transformed the place so much. The food is fresh and delicious. I love that they are starting to have specials. The staff is friendly and the service is great. Give them a try!
Went in for a plain slice at 730 on a Friday night. They didn’t have any, which I thought was odd, so I asked for a pepperoni slice. It was boxed up and I took it to go. When I got home it noticed it was actually sausage and pepperoni, not what I ordered. The slice was ice cold even though I only drove 5 minutes in a warm car. Proceeded to heat it up in the oven. The slice was soggy and seemed like it was frozen from the day before, but was also mostly burnt on the bottom. Employees were complaining about wanting to leave while inside the restaurant. Not a pleasant experience…or taste. $9 I wish I had back.
This is not a review for their food as I never even had a chance to order from them. Called several times just to ask a question with no answer, finally got through and they hung up on me, needless to say I won’t ever be ordering from them. Very poor customer service.
I have been a life long customer of this establishment, and it’s really sad to say I’m truly disappointed. The last three times I have ordered for delivery they “delivered it to another house”. I can’t believe this and had to wait double the predicted time. I really am sad writing this review but be wise and either order for pick up or pick another establishmentUPDATE: they delivered cold pizza because of slice. My recommendation for this company is to do it the old fashion way and get rid of slice
Finally found some good pizza in Mahwah area and I am pumped. The slices are GIANT. The joint is under new management and the pizza is much better than it used to be so make sure to give it another try! The owner and workers are extremely friendly and kind. The place is clean!
So I just went in for a slice. The veggie slice look good so I tried it. I was skeptical due to it being close to five bucks. But it was delicious and I understand why the price. I definitely will come back for more. And friendly staff clean and well organized. ??
