Single worst dining experience of my life, food and service were terrible, donât know whatâs happened to Ruthâs Chris.
They have to do better! I love all Ruth Chris restaurants! Although, some are just better than others. 2nd visit at the Princeton location. Overall our dinner was disappointing. We waited a while before someone came to take our order. The "seasoned" waiter was away and finally acknowledged us and said he would be back to take our order. There was an issue with my appetizer. I told another waiter that I wanted to speak with "our" waiter. She offered to assist- my Ossco Bucco ravioli appetizer arrived lukewarm, must have been sitting in the counter. It was replaced after several attempts to locate our waiter. The replacement ravioli was very good! Our entrees arrived, again had to wait to get a plate, another waiter assisted. I had the crab cake appetizer with a lobster tail and my husband had the T-bone steak, both were good, service wasn't. Finally the waiter stopped by to check on us. Told me our table would be cleared and he would bring the dessert menu. The waiter disappeared, our table was cleared and we waited a while for the dessert menus. Can't make this up. Another waiter stopped by, we told her what we were waiting for. She offers to bring the menu, I told her we would wait for the waiter to bring it. She must have told him and he bought them right away. Unbelievable! Finally, a visit to the ladies room was unpleasant. No toilet paper! An open, exposed roll of paper was on the commode, under the handle- unsanitary. I spoke to the Manager about this. He apologized. They have to do better. We will go to Ruth Chris in Atlantic City and Phili before returning to Princeton although it's closer.
To start, the service was so slow tonight. It made the evening unenjoyable. We have been to this restaurant many times but tonight was ridiculous. We ordered fried calamari and stuffed mushrooms. The calamari was stuck together in a big clump on the plate and the mushrooms were too garlicky and not warm. By the time the steaks came, we were already disappointed. The steaks were all cooked very well but so salty. Itâs all I could taste. Creamed spinach and garlics mashed were very good. We waited so long to order dessert and it took so long for them to bring it out that the manager even apologized. For an upscale restaurant, service should never be like that.
Wow! We were shocked by the declines at this location. Service was slow and inconsistent. The kitchen runners seemed frazzled. We seldom saw our waiter in a timely manner. Food was a mixed bag. Steaks were still amazing. Lobster bisque was watery and lacked much flavor. Potatoâs Au Gratin were also bland. Crab cake appetizer was meh. Shrimp cocktail was phenomenal. Bread pudding was not good. Crème brí»lée delicious. So sad about the change as this has always been a favorite celebration spot. Will go to Roots Steakhouse in Princeton from now on.
Overall very good. Had table for 11 people. Ordered multiple apps, salads, and steak for most of the entrees. Food was cooked perfectly. Salad serving was somewhat small (chopped salad). Cheese for Mac and cheese slightly too watery.
My steak was horrible quality. My shrimp add on was soggy not crisp
Food was outstanding and our server was excellent. The AC was a not up to par so it was a little warm.
Ruthâs is a high priced steak house - accordingly the steak should be high quality - my steak was tough and very average quality - it was dog meat - hate to write this but I will avoid Rithâs in the future - just poor
The food was great, but the place was way too hot Will not return because of that.
Our service was impeccable however very slow. It look longer than usual in between courses and quite long to get our bill. One of our side dishes didnât come out so we had to ask for that which is very unusual for Ruthâs Chris. We noticed the table next to us who had 5 people dining were not only getting exceptional service but the manager also stopped and checked on them as well. We did not get a visit from the manager. Another unusual point was that my husbandâs steak - the cowboy ribeye - which he has ordered many times here - was very fatty. He had to cut quite a bit off. Again unusual for Ruthâs Chris. I ordered the bone-in fillet medium rare and it perfect.
