Food is very good but the service is really horrible, basically a one man army and shapes the experience of dining in. They’re not open to listening to what you want, and assume that you’re done with your order before you’re done, and make a lot of assumptions as they present good onto your plate. I wanted something/ additional but the just thought of ordering or requesting some more condiments seemed tedious so I let it go. The easy solution would be to hire two three more people, and take the time to listen to your customers’ desires.
We went there as it’s one of the nearby South Indian restaurants. The ambience is ok but the they can do lot better on service and food. We ordered dosas and biryani. The biryani was decent but the dosas although big , isn’t really enjoyable. There is no crispness to the dosa and the filling is bland. The sambar doesn’t even taste like sambar and the chutneys tastes stale, I am not sure what it is made of . After taking the order, they completely forgot about by 5 year old’s order . The dosas were being served one by one , so we expected some of us to wait but She kept waiting and kept waiting until rest of us had almost finished by which time we realized they forgot the order. The salan along with the biryani was served straight from the fridge , and when I asked it to be served less cold , the server didn’t quite understand my request. If you haven’t tasted South Indian food before, you can try this place, but if you want the good stuff , this isn’t the place. The place has a strange smell as well of cleaning agents possibly.
Beautiful and amazing spot! The kitchen staff are a talented group, very friendly staff and the food is incredible!
we had reservations and when we arrived, there was no one around to take us in. i knocked on the kitchen door (there were people in there), but they did not come out. so i stood there at the register and tried calling 3 times- no one picked up the phone. so strange. 20 minutes later, we just left. ( starving )
Good food. VEG. could not find VEG south THALI though. Not crowded. Good staff . Reasonably priced. Iddli was a bit hard.Else good food to enjoy.
Restaurant has gone downhill. Several core items on menu not available. Poor service.
This place is not recommended. Proportions are tiny compared to how much they charge. See the pic attached with a 1/2 tbsp for scale. This dish cost $18.95! And it did not taste good!
Super delicious paneer dishes. I had the paneer tikka masala. The sauce was very creamy with a unique flavor. Definitely recommend getting the garlic naan and mango lassi on the side!
We were completely rushed for what was supposed to be a nice birthday dinner. All of us had not seen each other in years and were excited to see each other and celebrate a birthday, and the waiter came up almost every 5 minutes rushing us to leave bc he had another party. The bust boy quite literally took a drink out of our hand that someone wasn’t event done with to start cleaning and we were still eating. This was one hour into the meal, and every restaurant has at least a 2 hour seating policy unless denoted otherwise. It ruined my birthday and the food was mediocre. Furthermore no other party was rushed and we were a party of color which made it even worse because it felt targeted because none of the other parties were being asked this.
We ate at Chennai Chimney on Mother's Day and they were busy with a private party. The service was slow (we had to ask for a corkscrew several times), but they tried to get us food as it became available so I can't fault them too much. The biggest problem was the food. The Gobi Manchurian and Pakora were good and we were excited about our main courses, but they were dreadful - sauce with various lumps in it. The lentils were particularly bad - it was like a bowl of dishwater with a few lentils floating around. And everything was bland. Truly one of the worst Indian meals I have had, and I wanted it to be great. I'll say this for it though, it wasn't expensive.
