Went out to dinner Saturday night and found a wire grill brush bristle in my almost finished dinner. Late the next morning, I began feeling something in my throat. I wasn't sure if it was severe allergies and post nasal drip or if I had a wire bristle lodged in my throat. Of course I looked online and saw horror stories about wire grill brushes. So I decided to go to the ER as it was 3am. Everyone there was absolutely caring and thorough. I was quickly brought in for x-rays to check for metal fragments and given medication for an irritated throat after finding no fragments. The doctors, nurses, security- everyone was absolutely wonderful.
well where do I begin? I have been here since 1020 am its now 230. I haven't gotten any results, not one nurse has come to ask me if I'm still alive. and I've had a needle stuck in my arm for hours without an iv or an explanation as to why its still there, at this point its starving and have been told I cant eat or drink until my results come in. now I've always known coming here is a "risk" as no-one ever seems to truly help u. and yet I still took the chance coming here vs JFK. I'm truly not sure whether to get up and drive myself to Edison or if I should just wait it out. listen when I first got here I was here with only one other women, I've seen this room fill up and empty itself while I'm still sitting here.
The hospital was clueless. They don't know how to make insurance claims and harass you with debt collectors. The hospital submitted five claims to my insurance, and every single one of them got paid after my visit. After a few months of the visit, I got a letter from a debt collector saying I owe them money on behalf of the hospital. It was confusing as I never received any bills from the hospital or communications, and I could see the insurance paid every claim. After multiple phone calls, it seems to be the hospital submitted one more claim to the wrong insurance company that I didn't know of. There was no apology from the hospital staff, there was no solution offered to remove me from the debt collectors, and I had to call them myself to get their billing submitted to the right insurance where I had told them the first time.So here are my questions:1. Shouldn't a hospital be rigorous and reliable by not making such simple mistakes?2. Why do your staff submit one claim to an insurance company that differs from the one I told you to use. And why didn't you process it as the rest of the other claims?3. If anyone in the hospital had tried to do their job right, it should be fixed easily. You have my insurance information and five other claims paid, is that hard to figure out you submitted to the wrong insurance than the one I told you?4. Shouldn't you make an apology for your mistakes and try to make things right?5. Shouldn't you call the patient first and give them a minimal level of client service after receiving thousands of dollars from the insurance before you harass them with a debt collector?
Absolutely disgusted with the doctors at this facility. How am I in bradycardia and complaining of chest pain and you’re going to tell me that everything is ok?! How are you going to tell me what pain I feel?! How are you discharging me when you have me connected to a heart monitor and you’re clearly seeing that my heart rate is in the 30s while I’m fully awake?! I pressed my button for the nurse because I literally felt like I was going to pass out and had chest pain…..I was ignored and many staff members walked past my bed and saw the light on including my nurse. It took for me to start literally crying and saying “my chest hurts”. I understand that it is an emergency room but I believe me being in pain, passing out and still feeling light headed all while in bradycardia is an emergency. So yes then I discharged myself since obviously your staff wasn’t of much help and on top of that were trying to belittle me and whatever symptoms I was experiencing. I will never again be seeking medical treatment at this hospital.
I took my son to ER that is not the problem i have the problem with how this hospital goes about given results. My son eho is a toddlrr got testing done during his visit and in order to get results they wnat you to check on website. The problem is because my child is a toddler he doesnt have an email and when u put yours u have to link a childs account which is not user friendly and when u call the hospital they tell u to call the IT department. I needed my son results asap to see if he was ill and i called and was pht on hold multiple times finally i got to someone who told me that they are busy and will get back to me she took my number down. It is 5 days later i am still waiting for a call back. I was never given my son results i was never called back. Either help your patients or get a new site .this is ridiculous and your staff is veey rude your so busy you cant log onto a computer and look up someone results. Better yet you transfer to medical records department and no one picks up the phone. But if someone owes you something this hospital will pick up the phone real quick . Not going back here . Nope!!
Our recent visit to JSUMC ER was a horrible experience. It led to a 4 day fiasco that we are still trying to recover from. And a special thank you to the Charge Nurse Kaitlyn for being so incredibly cold, uncaring and rude. We were scared and desperately needed someone to help us and show a little kindness and understanding. Thank goodness for the Security Officer Ray who diffused the situation, What a wonderful example of kindness and professionalism that he exhibited. I will be forever grateful to him. The rest was shameful!
My son recently had surgery at Hackensack Hospital. The level of understaffing was very clear to me when we were in the hospital for his surgery but it got worse after we came back home. I have called the doctor's office multiple times a day for the past week just to get some guidance on the recovery period for my son. Every single time I got the answering service who said they were sending a message to the office with no response back. My son is still in pain, I am not able to reach anybody other than the answering service and I can't believe the level of complete disregard for the patient.
Their doctors and nurses were wonderful. Their billing department is absolutely terrible. I've made multiple (6 I think) calls regarding one of the bills that my son has incurred through them. Each time, I'm on hold for at least 45 minutes (usually closer to an hour) only to be told that the person that I'm speaking to will "send a message". Evidently these messages don't go anywhere because no one calls back. Please don't tell me to call the office of patient experience. They don't call me back either. The reason why I called regarding this bill was to get the self pay discount as my son did not have active insurance at the time. The person I spoke to said that a corrected bill would be issued. It was never issued. Then, because this wasn't bad enough, they sent me a letter stating that the bill (that they never corrected or followed up on) would go to collections if I did not pay within 10 days of the date on that letter. So, after receiving that letter I just went ahead and paid the bill in full to keep from going to collections. But, it turns out that they had sent it to collections before the end of the 10 days. Their billing practices appear to be, at best, sneaky and underhanded. Please avoid this hospital is you can.
Took my son there with 105 fever. The sheets on the bed in the ER were stained. Staff and patients walking around without masks at will. Took throat culture and nasal swab for testing. Came back to do it again because they lost the samples. After waiting 3 hours we were sent home with no results and told to get them online. The lack of compassion here sad.
Do not by any reason use this hospital ! Is the worse one in middlesex county they misinform and have poor care education .They only want the money the apn Prema have the audacity to tellMe that they don’t have tools for many issues I went in there with ingrown toenail with a lot of pain and she didn’t even show empathy with my pain and I asked her NO tools she say no that she didn’t even know what to do with my toenailI request for the doctor in charge they sent a nurse Robin like a pit bull to scare me apparently but not the doctor ? then I told her that I call corporate and she change completely trying to be nice after kicking me out to the waiting room again they give me papers that the computer answer for me like I was satisfied and my questions were answered also says that I saw a doctor which never happened..Not coming back at all !
