One of the finest South Indian/Chettinad cuisine in NJ. Went there to dine in on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered Vanjaram fish varuval, Thanjavur Eral(shrimp) Thokku and Malabar parotta. Everything tasted so fresh and amazing! Meat was fresh, spice levels apt and portions were perfect.Vanjaram fish varuval - Hands down the best I’ve ever had at any Indian restaurant in the US. Fish was marinated to perfection and tasted very fresh. Masala on the fish was finger licking good! The dish was garnished with lemons, onion and cilantro. It tasted so good, it took me to my childhood memories home:)Thanjavur eral Thokku - Again, prepared with super fresh ingredients with spice levels that are perfect to my taste buds. It had a nice chettinad gravy flavor with those dried red chilies. It was garnished with Cilantro and curry leaves and served with white rice. The curry tasted great with Parotta and rice!Malabar parotta - Another perfection. It was layered and crispy. I’ve seen a lot of restaurants that serve heated frozen parottas. Not here. It was prepared fresh, beaten to get the layers loose and had the authentic taste. The service was prompt and the people were friendly too. Overall I had a great meal! This place is going to the top of my favorites and I’m certainly coming back!
i really enjoyed dining here, very family friendly environment and the staff was very nice and helpful if it’s your first time dining at an indian restaurant.
Worst South Indian Food (Idli-Vada & Dosa) I ever had in my entire life. This restaurant is Salt Free - so bring your own salt from home as chef ??? doesn’t touch salt so he doesn’t add any in your food. OMG, Idli was cold like rock and Dosa and masala both were blend (no taste whatsoever) ?. ONLY good thing about this restaurant is the staff, they made sure I don’t leave w/o eating. This is my first and last time at this restaurant. I don’t know how to cook but this chef is worst than me. It’s high time - Parsippany need another South Indian restaurant.
we got a dosa and it was okay. there wasn't that much filling or spread out evenly. the top portion of the dosa was good and crispy but the bottom was soggy even though we started eating right after it was served. it was surprising that the dosa wasn't hot since there weren't that many customers there. would have thought it would be fresh and warm. we also wished there was more sauce. it was odd that one of the slots was empty.... overall we made do with what we were given. the server didn't really check on us or check if we were okay. we also got a biriyani. we asked for goat but they didn't have that and didn't tell us until a while after so we settled on chicken. I'm used to the meat being shredded but this was just a drumstick and a small chunk of chicken in the middle of the bowl. the rice was tasty though and it was a bit spicy. it wasn't mentioned it would be spicy though anyone who can't tolerate spice would not be able to eat this but we both enjoy spice so we were fine for the most part. it was served with yogurt and some broth? the server didn't identify what he brought and was nowhere to be found afterwards for us to ask. we had to wait a while before we were able to get the check. the positive thing was that it's 10% off for cash. honestly was expecting more from this place since it's in Parsippany and there's an Indian population here but was disappointed. will need to venture to Edison next time for a dosa fix next time. the food wasn't bad but it wasn't something that would make me want to come again.
Authentic south indian flavor. Definitely worth a try. Chicken 65, chicken pepper soup, king fish and non veg thali were delicious!!
Always hits the spot. This is my favorite spot for a Dosa and Malabar Partotha. The staff is always friendly and the food is always great. You can taste how fresh from the first hit of the coconut dips. My taste buds really appreciate it. I think the only reason this place is not busier is because it is hidden. More people need to discover this gem.
We had Bhai Veetu Chicken Briyani, Chicken 65 and NonVeg Thali. Briyani was made in seeraga samba rice and it tasted delicious and authentic. Chicken 65 was bit blunt without any chutney/sauce. But kids loved it and they finished most of Chicken 65. Non-Veg Thali was more of veg thali with couple of non-veg gravies.Service was bit slow as it was too crowded. But for the taste they serve, little bit of wait is not a problem

Quality of food has gone downhill. Service is non existent and unprofessional. No heat during the midst of winter. Used to Love Rajni but since owner is not present, things have gone south.
Went with my family and really had good food . We ordered mutton sukka , karimeen tawa fry , ambur goat biriyani and to our surprise they were super tasty and had great flavor . Service people were polite and fast. We finished the food with madras coffee and rasmalai desert which gave a very good end to our taste buds . I highly recommend this restaurant.
