You can’t find a noodle shop as good as this one in Manhattan. I got a noodle set with grilled pork, which was delicious.Very good choice for a hot summer day.
Food was good but staff is rude. You need to order and then sit down.Place instructions in your restaurant and by your entrance then customers will "understand your unwritten rule". No response or apologies for the rudeness so I'm guessing that's also the unwritten rule? Changing from 3 stars to 1. Not coming back.
Formerly the New Jersey location of Choiga Naengmyun but somehow and for some reason changed its name. If you had Choiga, then you should be familiar with this place. If you didn't then it's worth it to check it out on a nice warm day. They specialize in cold noodles. They also have a couple of other dishes like short rib soup(galbi tang) served hot which was really good. If you in Jersey, stop by.
Small area to eat, but the noodles were chewy and refreshing. Definitely would go back.
I have been there since it’s grand opening as ‘Choi ga nyeong myun’. They switched name to Sambong. Even during the pandemic I have ordered Kalbi tang, Chunggookjang and nyeong myun. They tasted good. However, since the new owner has taken over the business it tastes different. I ordered kalbitang ( it was undercooked, taste salty, and soy sauce like) and naengmyun ( noodle was bad ), also I did recommend to my friend few weeks ago, she disappointed by service and taste of food too. Need more improvements. They used to have Korean person cooking in the kitchen but now they have hispanic people cooking in the back. So the chef has changed, so the new owner wants to argue that it’s my taste pallet that isn’t tasting the food right….I got no more word to say. But I do not want to see other people have to eat this undercooked Kalbitang and really bad taste nyeong myun.
I'm always happy to come out of the way for great Naengmyeon. Very nice and quick service, overall totally worth it.
Place your order and pay at the front desk. You will receive a receipt with a number. Seat yourself and wait till your number is called. Solid place when you are craving nengmyun.
Very good 냉면 (naengmyun-cold noodles) with perfect broth! We also got the dumplings and the spicy noodles which were also very tasty! I have been here a few times and they consistently have great food!
Naengmyun is something that Koreatown in east coast does not know how to deal with. Any Korean restaurant can make Naengmyun but making it something 'super authentic', you cannot continue the conversation without Sam Bong. Their hot broth tea and naengmyun are very very good!
first of all this is a self service restaurant. meaning you order pick up and return dishes as well as get your own water and hot beef broth.they are located on the 2nd floor of a building with dedicated parking in the back.having said that, this is the most authentic and best Korean cold noodle / naengmyun place in the area. Their attention to detail such as ice cold bronze bowls , making their own buck wheat batter with a noodle machine that pulls and makes the noodles fresh. Even the kalbi tang , dduk mandu soup and steamed mandu was excellent.everything was just simply perfect. 물냉면, 비빔냉면if you like naengmyun watch 'naengmyeon rhapsody' on Netflix to get a bit of history also for anyone that says that their broth is 'bland' that's kinda the point it's supposed to be a flavor that is neutral yet deep with some complexity which they nailed.
