Waited over a half hour for two cheesesteaks. Must have sat as they were barely warm. And we ordered with fried onions, and they were served with roasted peppers. We’re they busy? No - we came in at 7:55, nobody else waiting.
Pricey for such small portions. $3.75 for a side of bacon consisting of 2 pieces of bacon - unacceptable!
I wanted to take my husband out for Father’s Day and he wanted to try this place, saying it was a cute little place. We first get in there it seems nice. The girls were pleasant. We order our food which was pricey. Out comes his coffee and there is no sugar to be found. My hot tea comes out and for the size and price of that I should have brought my own. He had to ask for sugar and a spoon. One sip and he returned the coffee; he said it was like drinking coffee flavored water.Food comes out. The scrapple was small and mush! The omelet was less to be desired! While sitting there we witness several others dissatisfied customers and as we were leaving another person was returning a sand which. It was our first and last visit.
We had a very nice dinner. We wanted something "fresh" and that's what we got. The spinach and cheese ravioli was a proper portion and the greens on the side were very nice. My wife had a chicken bowl and was very happy. The front wall was slid all the way open and the open air seating is something you can't get many places. First time here at the Starfish Cafe. We will be back.
As you walk in the place looks clean and awesome. I ordered an iced coffee…simple stuff. While I was waiting on my order, the kid making the coffee spilled the drink on the floor. He wiped the floor with a hand towel and then put it back on the counter…wtf?I also (unfortunately) had to go to the bathroom there. Right next to the sign stating “All Employees Must Wash Hands” was an empty hand soap dispenser… Not much “washing” was available, apparently.Overall nice looking place. On the surface. Never going back there…
This is a great spot right under your nose at the foot of the 9th street boardwalk ramp.
Took 30 min to order and another 30 for food to come out for basic brunch, fruit salad had hair and a sticker in it, and silverware and glasses were dirty. Employees were nice but clearly not managed well; everywhere is having trouble hiring but no restaurant has been as disappointing as this one so the "understaffing" excuse really doesn't fly.
I would love to tell you how the food at starfish cafe was, but sadly I am unable to do so. My wife and I are both vegetarian and were SO EXCITED to see a place in OC with a wide array of vegetarian options. Unfortunately, we were literally standing at the counter for an entire half an hour while the two employees that seemed to be on staff were running around effectively ignoring us while tending other people. During the entire 30 minutes we were standing there we were met with human interaction once, telling us to “give them a second” and then we waited for another 25 minutes. Truthfully, we are both unbelievably disappointed because again, we were very excited about the prospective menu. I guess we’ll never know. What a shame.
We have both dined in and had take-out. Food is 5-Stars!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Service is any anywhere from awesome to could be better.Like many shore establishments- there is both a food and labor shortage.
This place is the best, hands down. Whole food, plant based options and healthier options. Every other place in Ocean City serves homogenous, tourist-trap slop. This place the food is absolute artistry. My entire family loved this place.
