Good place but am gluten free. Decided to get the eggplant veggie hoagie w/o roll. Didn't realize it was breaded. :-( the pepper and chili hady mouth on fire. Had this been on a roll, probably would have been fantastic.Workers were very nice
I would rate a 5 because the sandwiches are outstandingly good. However, I was upcarged $4 a couple of times ( without being told upfront) for adding capicola. Also, beware of when you substitute a meat. It's supposed to be free, but for some reason, the $2 shows up on the receipt as an upcharge. If you're not paying attention, you could be spending $6 for nothing. Other than that, the sandwiches are THE BEST.
Primos has been my go to for years. Been to several locations in several states. Not thrilled with this one. My favorite is Nonnas Hoagie, eggplant parmigiana, sharp provolone , broccoli rabe and roasted red peppers. For heavens sake, don’t take cold peppers from a jar and serve on a HOT sub. Kind of defeats the purpose. Also the oil the eggplant was fried in tasted funny and the roll did not meet their usual standard. Try another shop. OC is a shore town and maybe with season just starting I should cut them a break…. Nah!
The sandwich was great. The bread was to die for.
Food is quality, always has been. But has there been an ownership change? Seems like they've got some issues filling orders. Online ordering is annoying because food will be ready 30 minutes after pickup time.
Just too exspensive !! only to get a not so good sub ...! Anymore .....?
Went to Primo Hoagies and we ordered the Primo Italian and a corned beef schwarties. Well I must say the meat is quality but the way they prepared the Italian sandwich ruined it. I asked for lettuce, tomatoes, mayo and extra onions. And what I got was rotten tomatoes, a slither of onions and barely any mayo. Their subs are made on a thick seeded roll which need mayo on both sides, unfortunately it was a dry sub. Poor cashier didn't even know what a schwartzies was, that should've been a red flag but we still ordered. Sandwich was decent but truly need to melt extra thick slices of swiss cheese. Would I go back here, nope.
One would think that they can get packets of salt, pepper and hot sauce to go with the hoagies and salads that you are taking to your family that is at the beach. Not with this place. Never again. Now always comes the standard corporate BS. How about reading the origional review? You could not provide any salt, pepper or hot sauce because you do not want the added expense. Since you are saving pennies you will be saving them without any future purchases from me.
I dont know how this location is in business. The first time I called they said they were out of bread. How does a hoagie shop run out of bread mid day? I called the next day and the phone rang and rang until a machine picked up and said they were closed for a last minute emergency. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like or how old the food may be. I have been to several Primo's with no issues whatsoever. They should definitely take this one back to save their reputation.
The beard! The coldcuts! The sides! I was blown away by this spot. This spot is now my #1 with a bullet sub/hoagie shop at the shore bar none. Please go check them out.
