Tried shahs for first time and I was actually impressed with the taste of the food. And not that expensive too. Had a mix of chicken and lamb and full of proteins and rice . Chicken was nice and spicy . Their spicy sauce is awesome . We bought a couple for home . Lamb was ok . Quick service . Overall a good experience…
I’ve had the best halal food in my life at this place! Fresh ingredients, succulent and mesmerizing chicken platter with a bit of lamb, make sure to add extra white sauce and hot sauce !I want to also thank Zack for his extra legendary fast service and professionalism and friendliness, you guys deserve 50 stars not just 5.Definitely coming back for more and more!I’m legitimately stunned ❤️
I had the fish platter with white sauce & a little red sauce. It was very tasty and filling. The fish was made to order and very fresh. I also had a side of fries. The employee who took care of me was very courteous and attentive. I was visiting the area from NY and I’ve only ever been to Shah’s in Connecticut. I enjoyed my experience at this Jersey location. It was clean and comfortable to dine in. I highly recommend them.
Went there with family and got combo platters.. food was delicious and kids liked it too .. Good portions .. highly recommend .. D was very nice .. will visit again
I have come several times to this place- food is simply amazing. I come all the way form NY for great tasting lamb over rice. But today I had a horrendous experience there was 1 gentleman working at front who was dealing with customers in a nice manner and I was actually waiting in line to give my order. After a minute a lady came and she didn’t had her mask on that is one of the least of the problem actually. From beginning she had a really bad attitude and she called out who can she help next. So I stepped forward and she said come tothe other side where the ordering starts.. I walked over and said I would want 1 order of lamb over rice..She started filling in the the platter with rice and lamb. Now the most horrendous part- she was want do you want on it? I told her And pointed my finger to the onions and green peppers.. she said “you got to speak louder than that I can’t hear you it’s not a church!” Then I told her again and she started slamming the onions and green peppers on to the food platter and at that point I was so shocked at her treatment to food she was so disrespectful.I had to walk out without taking that food as I had a really bad taste in my mouth and lost my appetite and I couldn’t even imagine eating the food at that point she was just literally tossing the salad into the food platter.I don’t mean to give a bad review and I do support local businesses but this experience was the worst and I drove all the way from NY to get worst customer experience ever!Updated**3/19/22Manager Zak reached out to me personally and after having a conversation with Zak I am very much inclined to change my review to 5 star. Because there is always a bad apple and what matter the most is what actions are taken place when encountered with such difficult situations when it comes to providing customer service.Zak has taken appropriate actions toward that employee and made sure it won’t happen again.Looking forward to coming in again soon for lamb over rice!
Food was good and decent amount- filling. I wish the person behind the counter would have worn a mask. We got fries, falafel plate, chicken plate, baklava and honey cake. Small place but clean. Parking is tight and people have no problem parking anywhere around but they're considerate and if they block someone, they move.
Delicious food and super friendly staff at the Orange, CT location. We will definitely be back often!

pleasant experience ordering take out :) we usually order delivery but was in the area. the staff are super friendly and courteous. they gave us nice sized portions and pricing is amazing. love getting the fish platter with green n white sauce. Thank you guys at Shals :)
I just had the lamb & rice. By far the tenderest lamb I've ever had. Rice was flavorful too. I couldn't stop eating it! They give you a lot of food for the low price. The salad was fresh. Friendly staff. Definitely will go there again.
