I loved the food, chicken was flavorful. I ordered off their express menu and was pleasantly suprised by the great price value of the food. When I was at the restaurant I actually arrived while they were still setting up for the day but they were super friendly and I was seated with some of their lovely peri peri fries while I wait. Overall a great experience.
I was so happy to find this restaurant in Newark NJ. I love peri peri and this place makes amazing food. I'll be back soon.
It’s rare to fine peri peri chicken places in North NJ. Was very excited to try this place, and it didn’t disappoint. Delicious chicken and peri peri sauce combo to brighten up your day.I ordered the all dark half chicken that came with three pieces of thigh+leg. It was cooked perfectly, soft and seasoned. The peri peri sauce added another layer of spice and citrus kick to it. Really liked it, wish it had more sauce.Main dishes don’t come with any side, so had to order the rice separately. Sides range from $4-$5The food comes out within 5 minutes, super fast. Restaurant is mostly clean with lots of table to dine in. They are popular for take out orders as well.
Food is comparably good in the area. Chicken is a little bit dry, veggies taste fresh.
This place is fantastic, the food is great, portion sizes are generous and the staff are extremely friendly. They have a lot of options which threw me off at first but it was pretty easy to navigate after taking a second to look over everything. I'd definitely come again!
Delicious and good value. All for one tribal platter easily feeds 2 with half chicken + 3 chicken wings + 1 side.Go with the Peri fries, no doubt its the best side! Seasoned french fries, fried very well. Their white sauce (alioli) is super good with the Peri fried, I'm addicted!For the half chicken you can opt to do all dark meat, since dark meat is the best meat. We chose mild because medium and spicy are quite spicy.Restaurant is new and clean, staff was nice. We will be back.
Tribos food is amazing! I have been eating here for a long time, and we cater from them for iftar (breaking fast meal) every Ramadan. Their prices are very reasonable and the food packages (come with chicken, rice, salad, plus evrrytjing in the iftar boxes) are definitely worth it! 10/10 recommend.PSA: The hotter sauces are VERY spicy, so be careful!
Nice place to have some spicy chicken. I loved their chicken tenders with lemon and herb sauce. The peri peri fries were good too.
I think the photos are more representative of how it tastes.
Great balance of the lunch platter, I loved the chicken tenders, salad and corn. The rice wasn’t really my favorite but that’s just me :) friendly staff and good atmosphere for eat-in lunch, will definitely go again.
