Really cute restaurant right in the nice park by the performing arts center. I came here on a beautiful day before a show. The line to order was a bit long and took awhile but the food was made very quickly. The staff are all so friendly and are quick to get you extra sauce (at no extra cost!) Or anything you need. They have tables and chairs outside too. When we were there, there was a huge party, looks they brought some of their own food and drinks as well and were blasting music. Though I liked the music so wasn't bothered.I got the oxtail burger. I really enjoyed it. It was a bit messy with sauce oozing out. But the Masala sauce they put on it is really good. The pickles add a nice crunch. I wish it was a bit bigger than 6oz. I like half pound burgers. $15 for the burger or $18 if you want fries. I got the hand cut fries and they were also very good. I dipped them in walla sauce which is their house sauce and it tasted like honey mustard. Which i like.I will definitely come back if I'm in the area. Great prices, great location and quick to serve you the food!
Sunday brunch with live jazz was perfect. Delicious food + the warm, friendly staff is a winning combination.
Enjoyed a shrimp burger during my first visit to The Yard. It was tasty and exciting to try. Fries were great.
The food is superb, the staff is exceptionally nice and conversational. The location in the park is scenic and relaxing. The prices might be higher than you're initially expecting - but the quality of the ingredients is on point and the flavors are great - so go for it. Plus, they personalized my bags while I was waiting for my burger (made fresh!) so... that's awesome! Try it out y'all!
Honestly it doesn’t get much better than The Yard ! Top notch food with vegetarian/ vegan options. The service and hospitality is superb. One of my favorite spots in Newark!
One of my favorite places in downtown Newark. There's so much care and attention put into everything, from the food (chopped chicken roti is my favorite) to the art on the takeout bags. But it's not just a restaurant. They host and collaborate with so many other small businesses in Newark, and it's clear how much they do for the community.

This eatery is top notch! I ordered The Fried Breast and The Oxtail sandwiches! Both sandwiches were great but The Fried Breast was one of the best chicken sandwiches I have had in a while. Kudos to this business, I will definitely be back.
SUPER!!!! The staff were wonderful, the atmosphere (in the park) is beautiful AND the food was SO tasty!!!! (I had the chicken thigh sandwich with the sweet potato tots with YaYa sauce) I had to look The Yard up online to give this review. I will be back!
Good food & good vibes! Hot dogs are tasty and so is the paratha!
