With a lot of halal style food in the area I was expecting good - but definitely I got great! Food was hot and fresh - well seasoned and so good!was met with many smiles from behind the counter which made it all the more…spicier!
Great good as always served with a five star service. I ordered a falafel platter to go.The food was fresh and is easily customized to your taste. Jonathan served me and he did so with a great attitude and smile. Will definitely be back and recommend it to all.
I am really not sure why they have 4.2 star at the time of writing this review but this place is a rip off in the name of halal guys. It’s no where even close to the original halal guys. First the staff working there were really unpleasant to talk to. They were rude and made us feel like we are doing something wrong by ordering from them. Also, I doubt they even use the same recipe to cook meat and rice. Except the white and hot sauce (which came in the pre packed packets) the food was honestly terrible. The chicken was seriously undercooked and tastless. The rice had a weird kind of smell and overall the food sucked! If you want to have the real halal guys chicken over rice, just take a train to city. Don’t waste your time at this location.
Finally gave Halal guys a try! As a middle easterner, I'm not easily impressed with levantine restaurants, but this place is not bad at all. I went for the gyros/chicken combo platter; it's good. The white sauce has a mayo-like taste, not exactly the best middle eastern sauce I've had, but it does compliment the dish to some degree. Service is quick, but street parking can be a hassle.
This is by far the worst halal guys around! It’s dirty, portions are small, food is not fresh. I’ve shown up several times to this place, the employees clothes loom dirty, they’ve prepared the food ahead of time so there is nothing fresh on the grill l. The employees don’t care at all about anything l, this franchise is good but this place in newel is the pits, go to teterboro or any where but her. This place gives the franchise a bad name
My favorite restaurant to go to when I was attending Rutgers. Food is still is great as ever and is promptly made and served.Had a beef platter with a mango tea and everything was delicious.Make sure you find parking, it can be a hassle
I came in today for lunch and when I tell you the customer service was phenomenal. The manager that was on duty jumped in and was fast and assisted her staff with getting the line down. She also served with a smile. As I went down the line the staff was very friendly. Not the mention the food was also very fresh and tasty. And it came packed. I had the lamb and beef combo sandwich. I must say I have not had good service like this since the pandemic. A MUST RETURN-LOWE
this establishment is a joke, the workers are not sanitary at all, scratching their necks, covered in sweat and just giving dirty looks. the food is absolutely disgusting. they wait until there is literally no meat left to replace the trays. they scrape up the crumbs and give it to you, with an attitude. it’s halal guys, not a 5star restaurant. it’s not that deep step it up, i should be making a complaint to the health inspector because service & food is disgusting
The entire staff was amazing. It’s hard to say who was better. The food was delicious also. I appreciate them for being so customer focused
I found this restaurant on google just a mile away and I felt extremely excited and proud of the Muslim brothers who established Halal restaurant in the middle of this huge city. As I went in and greeted one of the cooks told me that he can’t serve me without a mask and I politely accepted and returned to my car and came back with a mask on. I asked the guy for the menus and he pointed to the display above the counter without saying a word. There was no help with the menu instead the light brown skinny cook made fun of me . The cooks looked at each other and were laughing at me. I ordered 2 spicy chicken , 1 chicken wrap and 1 fountain drink .drink . I asked for a straw and the black tall cook , tried his best to find me one but couldn’t find .A cup of fountain drink in the car , driving no straw , splash !Then open the food , NO SPOONS , just the forks . Eat rice with fork!I am a simple guy and wouldn’t care such small inconvenience but I felt upset and humiliated by the treatment I received from the brown , skinnier cook. He tried to apologise but I told him too late !Is it ok to park on the street in front of the restaurant? I have no idea ! Shrugs !Completely negative . Any way , I felt embarrassed, bringing business only to be fooled .Food was fair , service was miserable and location is convenient and accessible . 2 stars for the Halal food.Abdullahi Mohamed Ishaq
