Honestly I'm not sure what the hype is all about. Reminds me of the hype people give Chipotle. I've been to tons of Puerto Rican restaurants and this does not compare. The portions are small for the price and the food is just okay. I'm ready to bet that the people who gave it a big rating think Chipotle is great also or they're just regulars. Personally I was disappointed with what I ordered and so were the people I ordered for. But maybe the take out food is different than eating in, who knows. Then again, why must it be?

I was there yesterday with my husband came over from Staten Island. Very good food and service! Alcapurrias and Mofongo were on point. For all the people that left a bad review regarding long waits. Fresh food takes time to make. Remember your not the only one they are preparing food for they also have other customers. If your looking for fast food Tainos is not the place for you. Go to Mcdonalds! Shame on those people complaining. Be thankful for the food!

Best place to get Puerto Rican food. The alcupurias were amazing, they were crispy and soft. The shrimp Mofongo didn't disappoint. I do not need to go all the way to Washington Heights I can just go here instead. The pernil was a little bit dry but it was good. I wish they gave us some sauces but other then that id come back again.

Always a pleasure when visiting this establishment. Very family oriented place of business, and is a phenomenal example of what a proper restaurant is supposed to look like, and also how one is supposed to function. It's popularity sores with each individuals word of mouth even stronger these days due to its taste, as well as gourmet food presentation, along with its prices; which are amazing for the all around quality of everything. They've been placed in the Mayor's New video commemorating the best restaurants and landmarks in New Jersey recently ?? as well. The ladies can make your day in 2.3 seconds on a bad day.
I always stop by when I’m in town. My favorite place and never disappoints. We were attended as soon as we came in and the hostess, greeted us. Quickly came over and took our drinks and arrived with menus. She had a smile and was ready to answer any questions. Food was hot when it arrived and she checked on us periodically, to see if we needed anything.
