Sora is flat out the best food in newark airport. I have had the tuna roll, seaweed salad, nigiri, chicken teriyaki and spicy tuna salad (been here 3 times). Emad is a wonder to watch...moving from table to table with ease and keeping everyone happy. If you are in terminal B there is other place to eat...absolutely delicious!
Never done a rating. But this was a weird experience I ever had.So food was ok.But at the end after paying waitress comes back demanding 15% minimum tip.Mind you I did tip but not a15% since she just took our order and brought the check at the end. No follow ups in between (restaurant was not packed or horribly busy). Also, me and my wife cleared the table of any crumbs or debris and stacked the plates. But yet she was demanding the 15% and I told her is not mandatory and walked away. Not even friendly when taking the order or at the end before she started demanding.
I understand the staggering price since they are inside the airport. But I am also paying for a clean atmosphere and service. When there is only ONE person running the place, from the bar to the tables, taking order, bussing the tables and cashing out, you can't have a decent meal. My trip was great until I walked into Sora.
The only reason it gets two stars instead of one is because my dumplings were decent. My friend had a Caesar salad which consisted only of plain salad, croutons and a bit of cheees (no chicken, no sauce). They also didn’t have half of their menu and service was slow. Go to Starbucks instead
I saw all the bad reviews, but honestly my experience with this place was pretty good. Maybe I got lucky?I ordered a seaweed salad, a volcano roll and another roll of sushi for take out. I was only waiting about twenty minutes, and the cashier personally brought the food to me which was nice. The food was pretty good. No complaints. I did expect the volcano roll to be spicy but it wasn't spicy at all. Other than that it was tasty and seemed fresh.
Food was excellent especially for airport food and an airport restaurant. Took way too long to be seated or acknowledged. I’m standing there are the cafeteria style pay out with 4 employees around and talking, making eye contact, but not acknowledging me. That was really rude. I get changing of the guard or not quite your job but someone could have been a person and said hello, you’ll be addressed shortly. After 15 mins when someone did it was just take a seat and someone will help you. The person sent to , was a good waitress. The food was really tasty and I didn’t get sick. Sad to see other reviews didn’t experience the same deliciousness I did. I’d eat here again. Customer service could be a little better.
One waiter for this whole place is just absurd. Waited over 20 minutes, after being sat down, just to place an order. We didn’t even order food anymore because it would just take too long. Based on reviews, I guess it was a good thing we didn’t get food here.
Overpriced, terrible food. Service is glacial and unfriendly. My Ramen looked like it was top ramen noodles that had been soaked overlong. They were steeping in a watery broth and the egg and chicken topping don’t look safe to eat. That was about $20. I was originally going to get the gyoza but they closed the grill while we were waiting in line. I eventually left after eating about 10% I didnt go back for a refund since the loss wasn’t woth dealing with the staff a second time. Also, don’t get the hot sake, it’s lukewarm and it’s roughly $12 for a large double shot. That’s for the worst sake I’ve ever had. All items pictured were about $40. Don’t come here, it’s not worth it even at a quarter of the price.
I ordered the original breakfast with NO toast & NO meat for $12 receiving just eggs and potatoes right so i asked the cashier if i can substitute the $3 toast for some pepper & onions to go with my eggs the cashier immediately told me rudely NO that im not allow to switch the menu up the only thing she can do is charge me $12 for eggs and potatoes and if i want onions and peppers she would have to charge me $7 for steamed vegetables only making my total $19 which is by far ridiculous and when i asked to speak to a manager it wasnt no one available or around to speak to. i instantly got agitated simply because I wasnt asking to be charged a lower price i was simply just asking to substitute the toast for peppers and onions and i was told no without even trying to accommodate the customer. Then the cook came out from the back and she was rude and with a nasty attitude she told me she wasnt making the onions and peppers.. this place is the worst and the employees customer service is horrible i dont recommend this restaurant and I wont be back
BEST airport restaurant experience I’ve ever had!!! Definitely the best option in Newark EWR airport! The waiter/ cashier (Botors I believe) was extremely kind, attentive, helpful, and warm. Almost every single table has a charging port, the ambiance is quite nice and away from the hustle and bustle of the gate area. Very clean and professional environment. Burger, fries, drink + tip only about $25-30 and VERY delicious!!! Was not expecting anything exquisite from an airport restaurant but this place went above and beyond. Maybe don’t come here in a rush, but they do have grab and go snacks at the front. Will definitely come here next time I come through this airport!
