Exceptional food, very welcoming employees, always excellent character. They charge convenient rates and the food quality is awesome. Highly recommended.
My family and I were in town for vacation and we were looking for a place to get a quick bite and we came upon this place. Excellent service! Food came out quick. Customer service was top notch! Very lovely ambience. Overall amazing experience.
we were on vacation in newark New Jersey, and found this salvadoran restaurant. We went friday night and tried the pupusas they were really good. Especially las de arroz and the ensalada juice very good taste. We came back on sunday morning for breakfast because the pupusas were really good, we spent 110$ in breakfast in 8 people then i saw the Owner Alex came to our table telling us we need to tip our waitress and we already have our tip on the table after we finish eating we order an uber because we need a ride to the airport uber takes around 15-20 mins to arrive then the Owner came again and tell us we need to leave ‘cause he need the space for more guest?? really ? after we came to your Restaurant and spent our money you kick us out of your place ??? bad management Im Sorry Alex i hope you are not salvadoran ‘cause we are and we did not like your nasty attitude
Loved the food here! The waitress was also super nice and helpful in finding what me and my friends would probably enjoy eating. I've never been to a Salvadorian restaurant, which may cause my score to be higher than it should, but this place was great!
Upon opening my order at home to eat my pupusas i find them looking like this as is they were just thrown in the foam container all stuck to each other, could not even enjoy them had to throw them away
What can I say bout this restaurant...it's has delicious food BIG portions my taste buds were going crazy!!! We took more food homeService was good, just ask for more napkins but that's it!Real Horchata and hot chocolate exactly like my grandma made it!!go! Sit down and eat..it will go back! I know I will!
It was my first time at las canastillas. I am giving 2 stars because of the decorations of the place which was pretty cool. I cannot attest to all the food because I only had pupusas and tamal de elote. My favorite pupusas are las revueltas, and I did not like the ones at this place at all. Normally, pupusas revueltas have all the ingredients mixed together, but at this place, the ingredients were separated and therefore it felt like just eating pork or beans. Also, the revueltas did not have cheese, or if did I, I did not even taste it or see it. In my opinion, I would not recommend this place for pupusas, the flavor was not the best. The rest of food I have not had it, so I cannot speak on it, but if you want to try real delicious pupusas, this is not the best place. Las pupusas no son nada buenas en este lugar.
I come at least two to three times a month all the way from PA Just to come get their delicious beef soup and chicharrón pupusas been coming here for over two years no complaints
The food is great, I love it. The best Salvadorean food I’ve had aside from El Salvador. I tried ordering for my birthday party & they won’t allow you to do it over the phone which is annoying, they said they need cash. When I get there they say only cash & they asked for a deposit & instead of just saying to pay the full amount they said the full amount was the deposit. Then I see the day of the party it’s going to be a storm, the news we’re reporting it & even received an email from the town suggesting we stay indoors because of the weather. The guy gets into an argument with me about canceling my order ahead of time yet when I had called about my order he said you can only order it 2 days in advance, so tell me how am I suppose to cancel the order if I only have a day to cancel? He gets mad at me because I’m canceling when I tell him that there’s a storm coming. I came back to place a new order & without hesitation he asked me if I was gunna cancel my order. Never coming back again if he’s here.
Poor customer service. Natural juices didn't taste well. The pupusa was fine.
