Best Rueben I’ve ever had, fast service awesome place!
Probably one of the tastiest chicken sandwiches I've ever had. There's this "maple-sauce" they add into the mix that puts it over the top. Also the restaurant is this cute, oddly-placed, "Revolutionary War-feel" to it that you rarely find in Newark even though the owner(?) said it was built in 1906. Love it!

This place was absolutely delightful, it was pretty empty when we went but that's because they just reopened. Me and hubby had the vailsburg and rest burger . Let me say that the burgers were delicious ? not a scrap left. The guy who waited on us was very nice and wonderful ?. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back as a regular because the bar area was cute ? and they have outdoor dining area.
Forget about Katz's Delicatessen in NYC, they can not compete with Resa Ruben. Donald, the owner, is the greatest and most humble chef in the East Coast. His menu is creative and one of a kind. We are regular customers since our first visit in August 2019. Some months later, Donald started renovations but it coincided with the Pandemic so the renovation is going very slowly. Don't let yourself be disappointed when you arrive there and you see constructions are going on, it's the food that matters. And, the food is unbleivably cheap compared to the quality. I always tell Donald he has to double his price!
Menu looked amazing , came here and grabbed a vermont rooster , by far one of the best restaurants Newark has to offer . If you are curious about this place, look no further !

Unfortunately, the owners own a few properties in the area and I have heard from multiple different individual parties that they are terrible, overbearing, and invade the privacy of their tenants. They are straight up bullies. I don’t want to write specific stories due to fear of legal retaliation for the individuals mentioned. I am someone who used to love coming here but cannot with good conscience anymore.

Been a long time coming that I write a review for RESA Grill.Where to even start;- Co-owners Donald and Steve are two amazing guys that are genuine, kind, hospitable, and honest with their customers.- The food? Amazing. Delicious. Hot. Homemade. Worthy of 5 stars and more if the ratings went higher. Get the Vermont Rooster because it demolishes any other fried chicken sandwich w/ fries that you've ever had before.- At the time of writing this, RESA is under-going construction but STILL serving up meals thru a pandemic and without seating. AND they still have parking for pick-up. Dedication.I've gone for years now and will continue to as long as they stay open. Every time someone asks me where I recommend to eat, this is my go-to. Best of luck.
My friend and I came here on a rainy Saturday night after studying at NJIT campus. This place is small, but the owner is extremely pleasant and made sure we loved our food. It has a cute homey feel with outdoor seating as well (which would be great for the summer time!) I ordered a turkey sandwich which came with a side of pasta and fries, and my friend ordered penna al vodka with shrimp. It was all very delicious and we were both satisfied. We were ordering to-go, but because of the rain we decided to just eat in-house. Would definitely recommend this place whenever you're in the area. There is also a parking lot in front of the restaurant, which is convenient.
