The room had a strong sewer smell that hotel did not even attempt to address. I almost stepped on a rat at the hotel entrance. The only good thing about this hotel is it’s location and proximity to the NJ Penn Station. Otherwise, go somewhere else
Hotel is very dated. Parking lot is not within hotel though you have in and out privilege. It is walking distance of the Prudential Center. I was not impressed at all with my rooms or the hotel. Little bar area by desk is very small. I don’t know what amenities except for the cookie and Hilton honors item. Also, parking garage is very tight visible signs on the walls that cars are routinely damaged.
This place was great for a mini vacay! The Penn Station made my visit to New York great! I will definitely make this my go to when I visit the area! Great time! Great food! Hotel supervisor Sebastian and Fre were fabulous!
Although the restaurant was in temporary space in the lobby, the service and food was excellent. The room was very comfortable. This is a very convenient location if you are traveling by train. It is steps away from Amtrak and NJ Transit at Newark Penn Station, and a 15 minute train ride to New York’s Penn Station.
I chose this hotel because it was super close to my customer. I stayed in a king corner room and found the room to be quite nice and clean. There was no noise from the hotel itself and the only road noise I heard was from an occasional siren. I had called down to the front desk to request an extra pillow and two of them were brought to my room very quickly as well as a follow up phone call right after they were delivered. I would stay here again if I am in the area. If you are taking the train there is a bridge between the hotel and the train station for easy access.
I booked a reservation through Orbitz and realized within 10 minutes that I made a mistake on the hotel location. I called the hotel and they refused to let me cancel. The reservation desk told me that since this booking was thru a third party, I had to go through Orbitz. I called Orbitz. The Orbitz representative spoke with the hotel manager and the manager refused to cancel. The Hilton organization’s lack of customer service is revealing. I suggest to anyone looking to book a Hilton property, consider an alternative. I will remember and will repeat this story to friends and family! BTW the Orbitz rep was great.
This place was very centrally located. There are a ton of places close by within walking distance. If you dont want to leave the hotel, you don't have to. They have restaurant and a bar. We ate at the hotel and had great service e and the food was good as well. Just piz, a and wings, but both were good considering the restaurant was under construction. Not to mention our server was absolutely amazing. He was an older Egyptian man, and this guy was awesome. 5 stars for his attitude and service alone. Beyond friendly, and just a great guy! The rooms were very clean, updated, and just nice. The service at the front desk was great. Sebastian did a great job checking us in, and making us aware of everything the hotel had to offer. Even though they were very busy he managed to rattle off everything quickly and efficiently so we knew everything, and so he could get to the next customer. All around this was a great hotel from check in to check out
My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights while visiting New York. Hotel was conveniently located across the street from the subway/train station. Check in was fast & staff were friendly. The room was very big and clean!! Beds Were Great!! Free water & cookies were given at check in. They had a restaurant & bar but we did not use these so can’t give opinions on that. It took about 15-20 min to get into the city from the hotel which was great!! Penn station had lots of delis & restaurants to choose from but lots of homeless people were present but lots of police security present as well which was good!! The only thing we did not like was that we could hear the trains and lots of sirens during the night…..and out tv did not have a guide or info so on HBO…..we never knew what movie we were watching lol…..I guess it is what it is right…….other than this we really enjoyed our stay!! Would stay again!!
We were catching a hockey game at Prudential Center and coming from Manhattan. The convenience to Penn Station Newark and the hockey arena was perfect. There is a walkway that you can avoid outside temps. However, coming back the building was closed. There is a happy hour with some limited choices, but a full menu in the restaurant on site. The food was good. At breakfast, I had a 2 egg breakfast with bacon, toast, and potatoes. Two eggs looked like 6 eggs, it was a big meal. The room was clean, the bathroom is as small as a cruise ship bathroom. My only complaint was there were 2 pillows, 1 hand towel, 1 washcloth, and two bath towels. I should have asked for more, we just were not there long enough, so it wasn't worth it.
The place is cleanThe employees are niceGood quality and quantity
