Too long waiting for food. Waited 45 mins with no food. Had to leave without food to catch flight. Terrible service! Wait staff offered mo assistance.
Horrible service, food was not good, the server did not want to give me a refund for the price difference between my 2 orders.
There is a large “menu” board. That is not the actual menu. I’m pretty sure it’s just for decoration. The actual menu is much smaller and consists of mostly fried and BBQ stuff. The food itself was deep fried and too salty. We waited for a long time for service. We had to make an effort to even get water.
$58 for two small glasses of wine, and 5 very sad and overcooked dumplings with only a broken iPad to take your order...nope!
Only 2 out of 50+ items were dumplings, so not sure why this place portrayes out to be a "dumplings place". Also, $58 for two small glasses of wine, and 5 very sad and overcooked dumplings with only a broken iPad to take your order...nope!
I hope you, the reader, had the foresight to read the reviews before making a decision. I did not... I was simply looking for a place in the airport, any place, with something vegetarian/vegan on their menu. This was the only option I could find, and I regret the impulse decision that I made. The veggie dumplings were hard and overly browned/borderline charred - neither fried nor steamed dumpling should be that crunchy. They tasted of burned oil, indicating the fry oil has not been changed regularly and/or the items were fried at too low of a temperature for too long. Or perhaps they were fried in larger batches and reheated in the microwave to order? I couldn't taste the actual veggies over the oil-flavored dumpling wrappers, so I honestly can't speak to the filling. What a shame, I'm just thankful I didn't order (waste money on) fried rice (bowl of rice, onions, and oil - according to another review)P.S. The order system is super flawed. You must scan a QR code to view the menu on your own device (fine, normal since covid) but there is no way to alter the information. It selects the delivery option and indicates a table number and seat number by default - the physical tables and seats are not labeled, so you couldn't select the correct location, even IF the system allowed it. The place was super slow, only one order at a time, but what happens if you get busy - do waiters simply auction off food by yelling the order aloud until someone raises their hand to claim it?
No wonder it has only one star! I should of search first about this place be aware!!! I know airport food is expensive but there are good ones and will make your money worth. This place is really terrible. I got a vegetable dumpling but at they gave me chicken I didn’t know it is chicken because the texture is weird very mushy and it is not steamed and a little fried, is overly fried and very salty!. The photo menu is wrong is not going to come how they have in the menu. I ordered shishito peppers the reason I ordered it because it comes with toasted apricot based on the details and picture but is not at all. And all what the server can say is he doesn’t not I guess it just came like that WOW!!! The hot teas on the menu sounds very good and they have unique name and flavors. The server came and told me they are out of what I want , so he gave me options he included green tea which is not in the menu but since I love green I just choose it, and later when it came, is the very low quality brand! Not recommending this place at all!!!!!
If I could grade this 0 stars I would. Terrible ordering experience on the iPads, and the food was HORRENDOUS. Wings dumplings and spring rolls all terrible, had a weird taste to them, we’re dry and even the green onions looked old and stale. The food was miserable to eat and it cost a fortune. Terrible experience.
Ordered vegetable lo mein and vegetable fried rice, and was pleasantly surprised. Both dishes were better than any airport Chinese food that I’ve had, and the servings (in large bowls) were generous. Utensils and chopsticks were provided. The low mein wasn’t ruined by excess cabbage or celery, and the fried rice wasn’t eggy. Service was okay (10-15 mins). Pricing was pretty good, given the silly mark-ups that you’ll find for most food and drinks in EWR. Seating is first come - first served, at the same kind of tables as you’ll find throughout EWR. (So you might meet a mystery dining companion across from you.) The only surprise was how early the restaurant closes (7:30). Other than that, a great experience, and I’ll be going back next time I’m travelling through Newark.
The only way to order is through internet, which already complicates things from travellers from outside US. But besides this, I waited for more than 30 min and then I asked the woman working there what happened with my food. She immediately brought me my food completely cold. The girl in front of me had already complained and I guess the woman that seated by my side also did because quite some time after I left she was still waiting. Expensive for what it is and awful service. It was not even full.
