great ? good and honest employees

One of the iconic food establishments in Newark. Do not let the looks of the place fool you. Some of the best pizza and hot dogs I've ever had. The pizza def has those NYC roots with its thin dough and chewy crust. The sausage slice is so good! Real sausage slices not that crumbed stuff. Oh and the hot dogs. You've never had a hot dog like the D's. Taters, onions and peppers, and whatever condiments u want. Worth every penny. Don't forget to tip the nice staff.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! GREAT FOOD BUT EVEN BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE! I HAVE BEEN COMING HERE 30 PLUS YEARS AND IT HAS ABSOLUTE CONTINUED TO BE A STAPLE IN THE COMMUNITY! SALUTE!

Came back to the old neighborhood just to indulge in a decadent delicious double hot dog!!! It’s worth tolerating the somewhat seedy neighborhood, double-parked cars and idiotic “drivers” with their booming blaring music. What won’t you do for this culinary experience??? We weren’t disappointed! You gotta have a double at least once in your life… this was my first in more than ten years! Loved it!!!!

Loved the Italian hotdogs!! Can't wait to go back!! Check out our vlog from our visit!! https://youtu.be/QegVcWCzBcI

Probably the best damn hotdogs on the planet! Double everything.

I've been eating at Dickie Dee's since 1976 in Irvington NJ and years later I'm still eating from them but in Newark NJ. So that in itself says a lot. Highly recommend. Great is the Double combo. Your going to love it.

I don't know how anyone in the right mind, could give this place anything shy of 5-star reviews! Their Italian hot dogs, pizza and cheesesteaks are 100% old-school NJ at its very finest, and 100% delicious (as in, out of this atmosphere). Everything is made to order. Clearly, they've been doing something right, as they've been here since the 1950s! Must be tasted to be believed! Enthusiastically recommended to all. A+++++

The reason that I'm giving a low rating has nothing to do with the food. It's the POOR customer service. I went in there last Saturday to order a cheese steak and the person at the register didn't seem to understand when I asked him how many slices of cheese are used, because I didn't want a lot of cheese. Then he told me the price, accepted my money but then I HAD to ask for my change back. He's like "oh you want your change back". Then the person making the food seemed like I was bothering him. I even had to ask if my food was ready after being ignored. They need to work on there customer service. I spoke with my sister and she had the same experience with them.

This place is a gem in Newark. Their service is very simple and straight forward. The food hits the spot everytime and would put a smile on anyone's face. I love coming from time to time and always look forward to either having their dogs or their cheese steaks.
