This is my favorite restaurant in Newark, maybe all of New Jersey. I have had Leitao in NYC, Spain, Portugal and Puerto Rico, and this is the best of all. The service is great and it's not hard to feel like you're actually in Portugal (especially if Portuguese news or football are on the numerous TVs. NB, don't count on getting Leitao on weekdays, but all of the other dishes I've had there are also great.
Very bad experience! We rented the basement and I had my graduation party here, serves very rude to all my guests, every single guest complained about it!! Half of the buffet food was cold! Owner didn’t allow to have any vegetarian option in the buffet even tho I told him I’m advance I have guest who do not eat any type of meet!! When we made the arrangements he mentioned wine, beer, and some other options of drinks were included in the payment, that basically any hard liquor was to be bought at the bar, but at the end of the night he charged us an extra $2,000 for drinks !!???? It was outrageous!! Never go there to rent or celebrate with your friends and family ! You are going to get ripped of and on top of that get bad service!

Terrible service. The person who served us was super rude, didn't know how to explain about the food and all the drinks were hot. And we don't like the food and bad experience.
Bad service, super aggressive attendant, doesn't have the patience to deal with new customers. Food did not represent authentic Portuguese food and drinks hots. We never go back in this place.
